I'm curious as to what the worst (most difficult) random situation you've (any and everyone) ever encountered in the game. I've noticed that a lot of enemy ships that are assigned to starbases won't fight back if you attack them whilst they're on-route to their base from the gate. This includes hacking attempts and omni-directional weapons.

Has hacking been changed for RC1? Because It seems like every Sung ship I've run into has had a 95% success rate at hacking my ship, and I don't remember having that much trouble with them in earlier versions.

When sitting at the bar in the First Contact Monument, one of the messages (the one with the Iocrym researcher) contains the line:
But where we talking to them?
I'd imagine that, despite his drinking prowess, the researcher was supposed to say 'were'. :P

Side-note: Sometimes I'd get missions (only for that one station, so far) where freighters had an AI escort assigned, as well.

Charon pirate is assigned to a Korolov station.

Funny story, killing it (them, it keeps respawning after the station's own units kill it) causes the station (and the ships around it) to turn hostile towards you. :/

Korolov shipping still bans you from escorting if you defeat the uber-charon ship. I was under the impression that this would change. Is it a bug?

The new Ferians are a wee bit too strong.

I just encountered a zone where a commonwealth arms dealer (I forget the name) spawned next to a colony. It didn't last long. Niether did the corporate cruiser that came in to avenge it.

Sweet loot, though.

You can dodge most (ca. 80%-90%) of the phobos's ion shots by flying in a circle. It's actually a little on the easy side, for a dreadnaught.

I'm working on improving mid/late game balance and would love to hear ideas. In particular, what are the biggest issues with balance? Some ideas: 1. Systems after St. Kat's get deadly too quickly.
