Re: How to manage Fuel and not go broke?
One more thing: most devices draw less power on standby, but most miscellaneous devices draw full power all the time. You should manually disable your enhancers when not using weapons they boost. And in some cases even when you are if you're just swatting mooks.

Re: Keyboard Mapping Suggestions
I use the default layout with the switch set to use letters for invoke selection. WASD is a horrible layout and no one should ever use it. ESDF is in the normal typing position or SDFZ as a mirror to the default setup. It should only ever be used by left handed people anyways because Transcendence d...

Re: MAG launchers
The only way to make MAGs stand a chance is to remove some of the NAMIs from Charon Pirates and Marauders. I'd suggest turning the Drake into a fixed axis howitzer or ballista platform and the Tripoli into a pure beam platform. That would restrict large quantities of free NAMI ammo to frigates, of w...

Re: MAG launchers
The biggest problem the MAG launcher has is that NAMI ammo is free when it would be at its most useful. You don't really need missiles before Drakes and Charon Frigates start appearing and the MAG stops being good around the time Tripolis stop appearing. In CC you're not pushed so hard towards the N...

Re: Roguelikes you enjoy?
They're really not. The worlds aren't procedural and death isn't permanent and they aren't ascii or even tile based. For every possible defining feature of the roguelike genre they do the opposite. They are almost, but not quite, completely unlike Rogue. The manner in which they are similar is that ...

May I remind you to also post these things on Youtube. Keeping that channel active is a source of free advertising.

Re: Playership speed, thrust, and turn rate
I think the ability to outmaneuver and outturn targets, combined with the ability to dodge and present a much smaller target, are enough to make the Wolfen viable without having the gimmick of just being able to avoid 90% of fights. I use it in most of my runs, and haven't been disappointed. If you...

Re: 1.7 Alpha 1 Ready!
This may already be noted, but the final Benedict mission is rather excessive with the rebalanced penitent weapons. Especially as a tutorial mission... Is the Ministry of Records down at the moment? I wanted to check there before bringing it up, but just got a blank screen... So it wasn't just me? ...

Re: "Boring" (high defense, low offense) enemies
I feel very uncomfortable saying this, but it seems like you're focusing more on some issue with me as an individual than with the content of my posts ever since I disagreed with your defensive headcanon in that thread a few months back. We've already nearly derailed a thread with this conflict, so...

Re: Weapon balance v3
Drakes can appear in the second system if there's a Korolov with enough missions. The idea that you should have to just let them kill the freighters die while you run away is not going to go over well with most players or with George.

Re: "Boring" (high defense, low offense) enemies
It's the same as the Mark III you decry as overpowered apart from ammo issues that don't effect the AI because they spawn with enough nandao bolts for their expected in-game lifespan. The Mark III is overpowered in the hands of the player for several reasons... So you demand that the player not be ...

Re: "Boring" (high defense, low offense) enemies
This is the same AI bug as always. Only Rasiermesser missiles, Ares missiles, and the two slot APA outrange the Nandao. Almost all your long range weapon vs capship complaints come down to this one bug. There's no point making any suggestion other than to fix the AI bug. I would say it's still not ...

That would solve one problem, but not any of the others. You seem to be the only one who thinks they're problems. In fact, you seem to be the only one who thinks farming is a problem. I've never heard anyone but you ever mention even the idea of farming them. I know I don't even dock at the wrecks ...

Re: Weapon balance v3
Hecates needs to retain its range for the Deimos to be an independent capital ship. You're misvaluing WMD in general. WMD0 is not an acceptable baseline because the enemies for which damage is most important are almost all capital ships. Very few non-capital ships outside the later arena opponents h...

Re: "Boring" (high defense, low offense) enemies
I think the Earth slaver is fine. The Nandao is quite powerful. Making them hard to escape from would be a problem. Also, hacking has limited range (usually 30 ls, I think) for both logical and game balance reasons. Right now they can be bombarded from outside weapon range with no retaliation whats...
