I've had this same problem, except when I've switched to the DirecXthingy, the sound get *really* garbled, as in the every second, I get a crunchy, *effed* up kinda sound. In both cases, it's really annoying, since I can't really play the game without it 'failing' in some way.

*bump* Since we've had several new updates to Transc. since the last time anything was posted in this thread, is it appropriate to ask for any updates, whether or not we can get some functions that will allow my 'vision' to be implemented? **Please excuse my spelling and grammar - I've had one too m...

Hmmm, fun game, though I was not very fond of being vaporised by a silver dragon whilst I was still on the first level.

Bland, yes. But it is excellently suited for conversion to the digital medium. At least, the rules are.

Do you realize that in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk, ice cream? Ice cream, Cardinal? Children's ice cream!...You know when fluoridation began?...1946. 1946, Cardinal. How does that coincide with your post-w...

I like that idea better too. It adds a bit more incentive to continue the missions, without forcing a player to change his style of playing.

...The main point of all this is that I want to force people to play without the id once and a while. Plus it would make the game more balanced to those who don't want to play with the military. You should never force the player to do *anything* but the critical path. So what if people like to play...

It's not so much new enemies, as more of a want to see the Xenophobes restored to their former glory of "Unholy Terror of Space" status :)

I dunno, I always thought the first mission made a bit of sense. Kinda like the military's way of making sure that you can follow orders, and actually *pilot* that hunk o' junk you show up in.

A lot of interesting stuff. I agree, to some extent, but the point I'm getting at, is that it's not so much a question of the challenge (or lack thereof) when fighting Slavers; it's more that that by the time you've progressed to the late game, every system has that feeling of "sameness" to it. You...

That doesn't change the fact, that they become tedious in the end. You can always count on every system having a swarm of slavers. It is as assured, as there being a star at the center of the system.

Something that severely limits my enjoyment of the late game, is that, compared to the early game, I'm faced with the same enemies all the time. Whereas the early game introduces and phases out enemies at a semi-constant rate (for the most part), I find that once I've progressed a few systems past S...

I've found in all the games I've played, that on average, a boost of speed always out-performs a boost in power. Maybe it's because I'm a bit quicker to run away, but then again...
