Stations generated

Why when i scout the Jiang system do i get a dry dock? I just found another the system after sanctuary, my problem is (and feels familiar) i don't get a fortress and no BM shipyard either, i'm still living on an omniturbo, Nephren 25 and orthosteel armor. Other games i wouldn't get an armordealer or...

I don't agree that cash sinks need to have little value to function: right now there is little to buy - most of your equipment is possible to be found intact as loot and other than fuel there are not many operating expenses (armor repair doesn't happen a lot because armor is not nearly as useful as...

I turned the profit margin down across the board to see how that would affect the game, and it makes it much more challenging to get equipped. :) Loot became a lot more important for my own ship set up in this rougher market. It's fairly easy to mod the changes to the stations <trade tag that make ...

Competition seems like a fun idea but all in all i read many complicated ideas and this may not be needed. I thought charging for docking, the amount could be related to the system you're in to make the cost rise progressively. For starters 10 per time you dock at active stations in Eridani, about 2...

Aah, well that's why the newly created company gets to control the capital and decide on the type of station. Or the player would have too big an advantage as in being able to "buy an armordealer" in the current system.

Maybe i didn't try hard enough to explain Betelgeuse, it is meant as a cashsink that benefits the player's gameexperience but only for the system he's currently in. Rough draw: the player chooses 1 corporation from 5 asking for a starting capital of 20k, 30k, 40k, 50k or 60k. They pick a site to run...

You could invest in a new station building enterprise. Thís idea i like. Your cash is taken by some corporate entreprise and the station they will build takes 10 minutes or so to complete, the cash is needed as working capital. There could be a host of companies to choose from asking certain amount...

No targetting ROM leads to all kinds of problems early on... First game of 0.98d i was killed by marauding slavers, 4 of them, early game, guess it happens. Still i know i made mistakes. I wasn't really concentrated cos i felt i was well equipped. The 2nd mistake was i didn't break but kept going fu...

Or something with the same effect as the walls in the Arena?
When i read the mentioning of a momentum weapon instead i was thinking more of the station's gravity (whether artificial or natural) making the player ship move out and away from the station.

Now i've read it :) There's many complaints about large amounts of ships, the Vikings, Sung Slavers and the Dwarg. It could just as well be about Ranx gunships i suppose but they're great when applying the Akan turret. We always get these squadrons sent after us consisting of 3 thru 6 ships, i don't...

Re: early game vs late game

It seems early game is alot more fun than late game even with the cool weapons in late game why do you think that is? I've been meaning to respond to this ever since i read it but it's so hard to pinpoint the cause. And i haven't read the whole thread yet. Early on i have more choice and also more ...

*spoiler topic*
Right, there is something unfitting with this theory Dvalin accepts what is not for sale, the other day early game i docked at a black market and it had a Dwarg behemoth cannon for sale. Later on i looted such a cannon and the offer was accepted no questions asked.

Ok but you don't have to use a launcher, it could be a weapon. What i also want to get across is because of the ammo that comes with each launcher each one adds about 4 items to the pool. The RNG finds it's objects here and will generate a different item more often as the pool gets larger. Making it...

There are a few odd ends re missiles and ammo. Like it's odd some station will buy a thermocannon but not the shell cartridges, i think cos they are not labelled military. And when i tried ordering these at a corporate trader it couldn't recognize my order... perhaps it was my doing but i tried ten ...
