Re: PM's mods

I have uploaded my work-in-progress for the Playership Drones update to 1.8, to Xelerus. It only allows the player to acquire more wingmen from the Ship Broker (or cheat menu). Field Repairs or more starter ships have not been implemented. However, this version of Playership Drones is compatible wit...

That is probably the way to make money out of mining early. Do not mine all of the ore from a deposit, just one to trigger the outlaw miner rush then farm their ships.

Re: PM's mods

@ Alandra: Thanks for playing my mod. I have more ambitious plans than merely the item mod that it is now. I have no idea if I will get that far. Eventually, I want to make Drake Technologies as big as Corporate Command or Backroads or other similar expansion. The items are mostly finished, and all...

Re: So let's talk about Eridani

Adding on the Shrike/Song's list, I noticed that visiting Benedict and him decreeing "kill Centauri" quests robs the player of income. Normally, it is a good idea to wait until habitats give you missions to kill Centauri for money, but Benedict is all too eager to order player to kill them one anoth...

Re: 3 bugs/imbalances in Eternity Port v 1.8b4

The reason amorphous armor is ion immune is custom script <OnArmorDamage> or something that prevents ion damage that would otherwise be taken, and that damage is converted to charges. The game engine does not know the armor is actually ion immune. Part 2 has more weird items like that, such as armor...

Re: 3 bugs/imbalances in Eternity Port v 1.8b4

Amorphous armor's regeneration is conditional. It must first absorb ion damage (making it immune to ion damage), which converts the ion damage into charges, and the armor consumes those charges to regenerate.

Re: Some late-game bugs and/or gripes (CC, 1.8b4)

Shield recharging was changed to what it is during the 1.08 days, I think. Before then, default did a better job smoothing out regen rates that did not synch with frame rates. For my mod shields, I use the Lazarus method if the regeneration will occur in bursts instead of steady. Armor regeneration ...

Re: PM's mods

I did a clean install without any additional libraries (i.e., no Corporate Command, Eternity Port, and Vault of the Galaxy) or additional mods, and did not get any errors. Drakian Legacy requires Vault of the Galaxy, but (for me), it should not appear without Vault of the Galaxy available. Without m...

Re: New device category: "exposed" in addition to internal and external

Lower chance of device damage is still fully vulnerable. This would be, in effect, indistinguishable from external. Probably end up getting questions which is which if implemented.

Re: The connection between part I and II.

Bringing most items from part 1 to part 2 would do little good since they are not one of the big three techs.

Iocrym use mechanist tech.

Re: idea boosted NAMI mines

I have done something similar for some of my mod (fragmentation) missiles. I do set up an event to look for targets, and if a target you want is detected within a certain distance, set the missile's lifeLeft property to zero to force premature fragmentation on the next tick. Fragments are as Shrike/...

Re: PM's mods

Thanks for the compliment, but DrakeTech is mostly an item pack mod at the moment. I hope to add more content one day, but I cannot foresee when or if that will happen. I am working on a few tweaks and may have another (minor) update soon. Zapsats will function even if ship has shield interfering ar...

Re: A few beginner's questions

There's no penalty for killing Salvagers other than a note in your game stats and the knowledge that you murdered innocent people for minor material gain. Yeah... they are marked as friendlies. In reality, they are anything but. Salvagers are one of the most aggravating entities in the game (for st...

Re: Playership Drones for 1.8

With more ships in Human Space getting built-in equipment, such as trader's bay for EI500, and all ships in Vault of the Galaxy designed with built-in reactors, not to mention all of the virtual equipment bioships have, I will probably abandon (and remove) Field Repairs for the next release of Playe...
