If the beams are like vespids', they are not truly hitscan, but they are hard to dodge (about as hard as dodging railgun blasts in some FPS games, where AI aims, delays for 0.5 sec. and shoots), maybe too hard for slower-than-average ships. As for gameplay vs. realism. I think continuous beams are better for gameplay, as long as they look good, because they are different and distinct from matter weapons. I would not destroy Black Market stations unless I could not dock with them (due to hotel bust and no source of ID). I have not tried that specific scenario, but I have seen similar things happen when I wrote Playership Drones years ago.

Objects that gate out of the system are treated as destroyed by the game. Game automatically undocks the player if the object his ship is docked at is destroyed.

I would get Smuggler's Hold if it gave more capacity. Wolfen gets max capacity with miner's but not smuggler's. I usually want regular cargo hold for Sapphire. For EI500, I do not bother unless I want to mine; much rather save the slot for extra patcher arms or jumpdrives.
