Ok so I guess I must've mixed them up, and I do have a copy of 1.6.4. Still no music eeven with 1.6.4 though, including not just the soundtrack but the TranscendenceIntro.mp3 which comes with the game. Missing Music in 1.7

I don't know exactly when but it seems that one of the updates in the last few months has broken the music. It's still physically there, the files play in a media player, the config/settings are set properly (music enabled and volume at max etc.), and the debug logs show no indication of such an err...

I haven't tried the media player but the in game music has been gone for me for a while now. Tried re-installing and everything and it still won't come back. Sound effects still work fine though.

Maybe you could save that for a "chaos mode" or "Galactic War Mode" or something. Nice way of altering the gameplay also.
