Re: Anacreon Era III Discussion Thread

I've had some thoughts about war recently and I'd like to know what other people think. Sector capitals Free redesignation of sector capitals results in some undesirable outcomes: 1. If a sector capital is taken in war, typically several planets will defect with it. If player A and player B are at ...

Re: Anacreon Era III Discussion Thread

The rest of the galaxy should read that as "Talegin-Montressor Diarchy set up a jumpyard projecting force into the territory around Carpathia's sector capital, then savagely attacked Carpathia for no reason after Carpathia requested gunship passage in order to altruistically evict foreign invaders t...

Why was it named "RPC Error"? RPC isn't THAT bad ... LOL

Re: Am I reading SteamSpy numbers right???

Margin of error is +/- 1,710. Pretty much all that variation is within the margin of error.

Re: Continuous beam weapons

I'd like to see something like the Particle Vortex Cannon from Strange Adventures in Infinite Space. This was a cannon-type weapon whose projectile emits short-range, short-term (a couple frames at most) continuous beams (rendered as lightning bolts) at nearby targets as the projectile moves past th...

The Republic of Reason and the Autocracy of Order were both Wayward Device (in succession, not at the same time).

Re: Anacreon Era III Discussion Thread

No, not yet. I was trying to revise the material on the wiki.kronosaur.com/anacreon and the guide so that I would have something concrete to send people to to learn to play. They're mostly done now but I've been kind of preoccupied so I was going to do it in a couple days. Feel free to go ahead and ...

Re: Era 3 feedback

Imperator, based on your war results can you verify that when you capture a jumpship yard outside of sector capital radius it still projects a beacon? Why allow jump transports to travel with gunships or starships? Do the gunships carry jump beacons? Fleets have always traveled with the propulsion m...

Re: Anacreon Era III Discussion Thread

So the thought came to me the other day, what happens to a starship fleet with accompanying jumpships if the starships all get blasted out of the sky in flight due to a jumpmissile barrage? If the fleet is located on world when they get anhilated in battle, the jumpships can be moved back to their ...

Re: Anacreon Era III Discussion Thread

I don't generally like to publicize exploits but I feel that everyone deserves to know that you can pull all labor away from a tech program by assigning 100% labor to a planetary defense structure for a couple of watches and then setting it back to normal. The tech program still uplifts, so you basi...

Re: Era 3 feedback

Games have tides of imperial rise and decline depending on which players are active. Usually small empires can carve out territory in the gaps between large empires, since they are (mostly) protected to attack from large empires as long as they don't attack them first. One strategy that has worked w...

Re: Era 3 Bug: Ramjet fleets can't path in nebulae?

Fleets have always been theoretically able to path through rift zone gaps, but in practice they sometimes have trouble finding a path before the algorithm gives up.

Re: Anacreon Era III Discussion Thread

Check out wiki.kronosaur.com/anacreon/eras/era3/units for a list of units and their attrition half-lives. Longer half life numbers mean fewer units are lost over time. The half life is (i think) the number of cycles on average that it would take a fleet to lose half of its units. Generally speaking ...
