Re: New Player with Questions

 It depends on what enemy stations spawn in the system. If you get Sung slave camps, Marauder compounds, or Sapiens compounds, they’ll send you on missions to go destroy them.

Re: Shrike's Mines and Missiles ++ (1.1)

....and this is why you give me bug reports. I made a new one using the whiptail effect to replace my original (which was just a clone of the original) to get around ICX issues. If that's lagging then that's a possible engine bug that woulda been good to know about.  The effect for the Xenophobe io...

Re: requesting adjustment to positron

 That’s actually ion, not positron, and is the only weapon that uses that particular effect. While I do agree with your opinion on the Avalanche/Fracture and kinetic effects, I have no real stance on this one. Apparently Shrike isn’t fond of the new effect, though, since they overwrote it in SM&M++ ...

Re: New Player with Questions

Repair levels are mostly used to make armor more or less expensive to repair. If the repair level's higher than the armor level, then you have to pay more; conversely, if it's lower (like with the titanium barricades) then repairing is cheap.  Not only that, different stations have different limits...

Re: What is the most useless code you can write?

 Somewhere between useless and trololololol:

Code: Select all

(setq aeOopsIBrokeIt
	(lambda nil
		(plyDestroyed gPlayer
			(cat "debugged " (if (strFind (plyGetGenome gPlayer) 'female) "her" "him") "self to death")
		)
	)

Re: Galaxy loading error

 Rackspace means the rack holding the actual machine the game runs on. Basically, he means a hardware issue.

Re: Question about Steam and here.

 Welcome aboard!  The version sold on Steam includes Corporate Command and Eternity Port. Buying them separately through Kronosaur Productions costs nine dollars — $3 for Corporate Command, $6 for Eternity Port. The main difference between buying one way versus the other is that buying directly from...

Re: The Backroads — an alternate route

 Update of the (insert random time period here): TBR is now on version 0.5.8-b. Minor work on the Pariah playership, but mostly just taking down the April Fool’s recolors. Except for Bane and Menkalinan. I wound up liking them better this way. <.< >.> <.<;

Re: Balance final tweaks/changes before Beta 3

 If the list of tweaks/changes has been updated at all, now would be a good time to repost it here. I’ll link to it in postgame in tonight’s stream.

Re: Armor balance discussion

 I disagree with Xephyr on one minor point: Armor mass isn’t just “not a big deal,” it’s about as close to absolutely pointless as you can get in regards to installable mass limits, right now. It can affect turn speed and acceleration if you’re running a heavy loadout, as PM said, but even that migh...

Re: The Backroads — an alternate route

 Fixed, re-up’d, did not bother changing version numbers.  Heh. Try it with high-level ZapSats, a couple of I-T24 Bludgeons on the wings, a lithium booster from Corporate Command, plus a couple of the armor repair VI devices from Cabbage Corp, and deck yourself out with Heracles armor for good measu...

Re: The Backroads — an alternate route

 Okay. So. One of those bugs was worth updating TheBackroadsLibrary.TDB to 0.5.8-a — not the graphics, so quick download to fix. One isn’t exactly a bug (since the sensible way for it to work clashes with a vanilla option) and the other is an engine bug that I put in a ticket for George to deal with.

Also, did you intend for the Pariah to no longer have automatic decontamination systems, like it did before?
 Yep, working as intended. Lemme go see about those bugs, now…
