Commander's Log

A partial replacement for Bobby's Captain's Log/Ship Log mod. Requires version 1.8b4. http://xelerus.de/index.php?s=mod&id=1609 It has information on all known systems and stations, including any items in the stations which the player has docked at. There is an item search feature which allows the p...

Re: Xortek Corporation

Looks great. The station, especially the HeroImage, looks good and the blinking lights are excellent. Love the screen descriptions too. "Synergize some resolution", excellent. And great looking effects everywhere. Impressive. I thought the mega-hp plasma launcher might be a bit too much but it is ba...

Re: various questions and stuff

Multi-line text ids usually have a blank line at the beginning and end of the text content. I'm wondering if there is a text formatting reason for this or is it just to break up what can be a wall of text to make it easier to read and work with. An example from one of the mining missions: <Text id="...

sysFindMultiple lambda

This may be of use somewhere. The criteria for 'sysFindObject' don't stack very well. This is a way of creating a list of objects that can vary widely in the selection criteria. ;Combines objects from multiple sysFindObject criteria into one list. (setq rpgD789SysFindMultiple (lambda (source criteri...

Re: Taipan GodShip

You're welcome. That is exactly what it was designed to do so I'm glad it helped. Full credit to alterecco. the writer of GODMod, because this is pretty much a cut-down copy of that mod stuck into a ship. Seeing the specs for the "Wand of Wishing" has given me a few more ideas (warning: blatant idea...

Re: randomly selecting multiple items from a list help please

Awesome. Thanks. I figured there had to be an easy way.

What does 'mod' do in the first example? The two examples in the source code don't help much. And does it matter if it is (mod 5 n) or (mod n 5)? I think that's what is meant.

Re: 3 bugs/imbalances in Eternity Port v 1.8b4

I like the outlaw Borer swarms. You have to fight for your ore and it's good fun. It's only relatively new and was quite a surprise the first time it happened. It may be a little excessive but it certainly adds some excitement to mining. I've never looked at the code. Some additional info on the ion...

Re: Transcendence Broadcast: Domina & Oracus

I've never used them. When I started playing donating was a big pit that sucked up credits and items for no apparent reward. Things have improved a bit since with the "this item is valuable to Domina" screen description but they are still a mystery to me. I've learnt more from looking at the code an...

randomly selecting multiple items from a list help please

Although it isn't a very complicated task, is there is an easy way to select two or more items randomly from a list? Wanting to damage between 2 to 4 of the 5 installed weapons on the CSC-II Earth in the Network mod to simulate battle damage. So I think a list of 2 to 4 weapons selected randomly is ...

Re: What's up with the Constellation?

The device swap thing is a bug. Same as the 'BM cant swap better devices 1.8b4' Ministry ticket. You can install a device but not replace one. eg, the TX3 can have a weapon or collimator installed because it has an empty slot but you can't then replace that installed device. Probably caused by a sma...

Re: mission feedback

Although the CSC Antarctica launches patrols every so often it doesn't launch any ships if the player says they will attack it. Having half a dozen Centurions pop out and attack the player as they undock might make it exciting. No idea if this idea is balanced though. I haven't fought the Antarctica...

Re: 1.8 Beta 4

Erebien fortress looks great. The way the station weapons fire from the 'towers' is excellent. The blue giant star in Contemplation Point looks great. Minor: Although &unidAncientRacesVol1; has been updated to API 43 and 1.0 Alpha 7, the VOTG &unidExtension; in VaultOfTheGalaxy.xml is still API 42/1...

The first one has already been fixed in the next version.
Great looting in the second one, but yeah, a little excessive.
I'll have a look at the third one.

Re: New device category: "exposed" in addition to internal and external

The 'exposed' weapons could be knocked out and need time to reboot and become operational again. This could be a period of time when either the weapon couldn't be used or did the misfiring thing. But the weapon wouldn't be permanently damaged. It could start functioning again automatically or could ...

Re: Some late-game bugs and/or gripes (CC, 1.8b4)

The advanced analyzer only identifies items up to level 10. There is one level 11 field crystal and, as Song says above, one halo gem, the Gem of Sacrifice, which is level 12. Confusingly the analyzers use the identified level to determine whether they are sophisticated enough. All unidentified halo...
