Re: New Player with Questions

The militia can give you missions, but if you have already cleaned out the entire system, or (not sure about this) if you do not seem to be powerful enough, they have nothing to do for you. You must be careful around slave camps, get rid of the guards, destroy the sung turrets from outside their ran...

Re: New Player with Questions

I installed a patcher spider and it got damaged, and I cannot seem to find a way to repair it. You cannot repair devices once they are damaged. However, if you find a Teraton fabricator you might convert it into something that is useful again. Just make sure that it doesn't eat you  I used...

Re: Transcendence 1.7 Released!

This started today. When I quit and save status permadeath. When I log back in I wake up in someone else's body. I didn't die, I just quit and saved. Any Ideas? Could be that the game crashed on exit due to some reason. If this happens, the game also resurrects you when you log back in. Should be i...

Re: A Bunch of Lore Questions

The problem with plants is that they cycle CO2. Only a small proportion is actually converted to stuff that hangs around, the rest gets put out again as CO2 later on. Mostly true for earth-like conditions with day and night cycles. When there is no light, plants also produce CO2, but given a consta...

Re: A Bunch of Lore Questions

The efficiency in plants lies with the fact that they use sunlight to convert CO2. There is no other process on earth that is that efficient in converting CO2 with so little energy input. They use the carbon and other elements to grow themselves and release the oxygen they do not need. It is for tha...

Re: A Bunch of Lore Questions

Thanks guys. That cleared it up. Then why do us, the curren humans, not build specialized Solar Plants to break down CO2? Also, for the very simple reason that the most efficient and mutually beneficial way is to use plants and trees. (they are very efficient solar power plants  ) If we only...

Re: The Ark : has anybody shot it?

It has happened to me once as well, just one shot too many and poof, no wreck to loot.....
After that I have become a bit more careful, use a big gun with WMD to almost kill the ark and finish it off with something less likely to blow up the wreck. Usually some ion weapon (without WMD) will do.

Re: Transcendence 1.7 Released!

They still exist in 1.7. But it is a rare find. Ususally by the time I can get one, I don't need it really because of the large accumulating amounts of Stiletto's that can take me well past St. Kats. I like to combine them with a spread weapon, like the Morningstar or later the Ion Flame Cannon in c...

Re: Transcendence 1.7 Released!

First thing I always go for with the EI500 is a missile launcher. I don't take on enemies I cannot handle with the omni laser. It is tough, but the NAMI launcher usually is available in Eridani. From then on the missiles are primary weapons until the omni laser can be ditched for something better (l...

They should have a 50% chance of spawning at any colony, dockyard, or refinery. If you can't find any that's a problem, and I'll make them more common.
After 5 systems in Citadel space, still no Vallican reactors anywhere, made a ticket for it on the Ministry.

Re: Project Renegade (Beta) (1.7)

Looks good, still no Vallican reactors anymore :( I used to love the 75MW model. Just big enough for most of the ships to power safely and lasts long enough to clean an entire system.

Re: Transcendence 1.7 Released!

Generally the games I play with the EI500 are by far the easiest to finish. Once you have it equipped with good armor, decent shield, a launcher and a good omni weapon (omni thermo lasts easily to the end) it can function as a missile boat with lots of cargo capacity. This will guarantee a big cashf...

Re: Project Renegade (Beta) (1.7)

Unfortunately the patch does break the game. Trying to load it gives me a window with the title Unable to load game with the text: unable to find type: a0122336 (missing mod?)
to bad, was halfway through citadel space :(

Had to start a new game and so far that works fine

Re: Transcendence 1.7 Released!

The EI500 might actually make good use of mining pods, it can carry a lot of them. They don't take up any slot. Perhaps they need some improvements, before being very usable. but for weaponless mining they could be the answer. It has been a long time since I actually did active mining. Of course I p...

Re: Project Renegade (Beta) (1.7)

Does this version break previous saves?

Citadel colonies no longer buy stuff, got a full hold of stuff they used to buy and they keep telling me I have nothing to sell.
