The upper one was a combination of the Molotok and the Manticore that used dual relativistic howitzers. The lower one was a travelling Tempus Lab (the structure in the middle is a docking platform with six docking ports).

You will meet the Iocrym later in the game, at which point you can just fight them and loot their armor instead of buying it for Rin. I have never spent any Rin on buying armor.
