It is a side-effect of how shields regenerate. At 16.7 hp/sec, it actually regenerates 30 hp/sec for a while, stop, resume at 30 hp/sec, stop, and so on. Just tried Manticore in Corporate Command and all of the weapons appear to originate from the middle instead of from the side arms. I guess singleShotOrigin does not work.

Hercules and Minotaur still have their older points, without the singleShotOrigin.

Aside from looting from Luminous, high level Luminous items could be found in Teraton stations since they can sell NotForSale items. Fabricator to make the items would be an obvious choice, but lack of high-level systems in Eternity Port means it is unlikely to spawn. Low-level equipment like the Lu...

You can install laser collimator, but you need to swap out the shield on the autons with two device slots. Of course, that assumes if you can choose which item to swap out, which does not seem to be the case.

Looks like I should add a ticket for this.

Mining was overhauled in 1.5, and it still needs serious work. Low level systems have almost no ore unless the system has an ore deposit. That is probably the way to make money out of mining early. Do not mine all of the ore from a deposit, just one to trigger the outlaw miner rush then farm their ships.

The reason amorphous armor is ion immune is custom script <OnArmorDamage> or something that prevents ion damage that would otherwise be taken, and that damage is converted to charges. Amorphous armor's regeneration is conditional. It must first absorb ion damage (making it immune to ion damage), which converts the ion damage into charges, and the armor consumes those charges to regenerate.
