Re: Curses

The reference was meant to explain that even in the advanced modern age, where soldiers are generally held in high regard and are typically stronger and more knowledgable than the average citizen, they rarely receive much more status than the average person politically. Regardless, hadn't George or ...

I like this idea.

Re: The Black Market will kidnap Hiro even if they aren't al

Why not simply have the game add another black market station in for the mission when it's accepted, similar to the Ares communes that are added in for fleet missions if all of the ones in the system are destroyed, and either remove the station that is currently added to the system or change it to a...

Re: Curses

The Iocrym are sophonts, not dumb animals. The Iocrym leadership pretty much has to be involved in the decision making process in at least a nonvoting observer role. If they were docile enough to accept not having even the possibility of having their voice heard directly they wouldn't be aggressive...

The Black Market will kidnap Hiro even if they aren't alive.

The game does not seem to be capable of dealing with the player destroying the Black Market station in Rigel Aurelius, nor can it understand the player having blown up the Molotok guarding it. In the former case, the mission will be offered as usual, the Corporate Cruiser spawned will head to the st...

Lamplighter Questline glitch

Problem: Admiral Decker is stuck. Entering bridge of CSC Terra results in a message that he is navigating the ship. Context: Scientists rescued, ROM mission not received(skipped through medical CSC) Highest rank obtained and Lamplighter prototype returned to rightful owner Terra's engines are on, b...

Re: Curses

There is no reason for the AI to have information the Iocrym believe to be false. That's right, but it doesn't mean it's true for certain. As I understand it, the Iocrym are described as a purpose - bred race of sentinels for the ancient races, meaning they're the cosmic equivalent to attack dogs, ...

Re: Curses

The Iocrym AI is really clear and explicit on the matter, but absurdly hard to hack. Is the AI trustworthy? I think I remember the Iocrym being fairly low on the scale of ancient races, as well as a thread in which George seemed to support a theory that not all descriptions of Domina by in game fac...

Re: Curses

Some of the later plots reveal... things... Just kill sung fortresses and do the missions in Heretic to potentially learn what he means The end of the Huari campaign could simply refer to breaking the quarantine. After all, those ancient races are supposedly miles beyond humanity in terms of techno...

Re: Naming themes among Soviergns

Yes, the pirate ships are all themed as well: Corsair is a type of ship used for piracy in the past, the Barbary pirates were a problem in the Mediterranean for a long time, the vikings were kinda awesome, and Tripoli was a base for piracy as well at one point IIRC. I noticed that as well. What do ...

Naming themes among Soviergns

Recently, while playing Transcendence, I noticed that some factions had certain themes with regard to the names of their ships, often in a manner that is relevant to the plot or enhances the storyline. Below are the factions in which I've noticed a theme in naming, as well as what the themes seem to...

Re: Curses

As I understand it, the hyperintelligences need to channel their power through consenting sentient beings for it to take effect, thus why all of the Domina powers utilize either you directly or your ship and the area around it in a shockwave or shield, and why Oracus's harass power can only operate ...

Re: Voyager - a game overhaul

I'd make the stargates purely game abstractions using a compass rose image. They still wouldn't make sense, but trying to disguise them as a whirlpool just draws attention to the problem rather than letting people ignore it as a game abstraction. The other option I have in mind is a "set a course" ...
