I have no idea, BUT if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know! Writing some basic scripts to output the .xml file into the wiki formatted files would be a neat way of supporting automatic updates across various versions.

From the output you gave me, it looks like there's not quite the right files in the right place. I'll talk more about it below, but first try redownloading the latest (see above), unpack it somewhere completely different, and try again. Ah! I never realized that there was a debug log. This is what i...

I think I am. You do mean the folder with all the jpg's and xml files and wav's right? (That's how my version's files are arranged. I think its release 13) By the way, I am running this under Ion3 WM. But I get the same error from gnome too. So its not window manager. That's not a known failure, an...

What's white, has a blue lit-up DVD slot, and runs homebrew? Here's a hint: it has a PPC in it. Oh, huh. Interesting idea. Transcendence would be a /really/ good virtual console game. Of course George works for Microsoft, though I don't think that puts him in any position to get, say, an Xbox dev k...

CFG -

I'd expect that assertion to fire anytime a savefile is written, either through traveling through a jumpgate, (possibly) buying insurance, or just the good ol' esc-2 save and quit option.

schilcote -

C++, mostly. I hesitate to ask, but... what is your idea? :)

Can you consistently reproduce this, CFG? If so, please generate a core file by the following steps: gdb ./transcendence (wait for it to throw the assertion) gdb> gcore This should generate a rather large corefile. Compress the file up and attach it to a bugtrac or, if it's too large, stick i...

I thought I was going to have a mac available to build/test, but until now I do not. Once I get a mac locally, I'll be able to generate builds -- fortunately, all the port work I've done so far will be portable with linux and mac . Unfortunately, I still don't have a mac :/ Thanks for the offer, tho...

Till I have write access in trac, Ill need to add it here to not forget about: Done. I managed to create an invisible cargo crate with the windows version. the savegame also works with the linux version, behaving exactly the same way. Create an invisible cargo crate how, exactly? You imply that you...

I could take care of the linux builds... plenty (relative) of space for chroot environments here. Only limitation is my time if things dont work out of the box. I dont have a Mac (and sadly didnt have the money to buy one when they still had PPCs inside...). As the are x86 too now, cant they be emu...

Ah, that's good to know that everything except libsdl-mixer1.2 is included in the base distribution. Thanks, Demanther!

Ah, good catch. An assertion '0' is basically a "Not Yet Implemented" note to myself. I'll try to loop out a version with an appropriate placeholder in the next few days (I may even fully implement it!). There's actually two builds that I'd like to make, but lack the hardware for. The first is a 64-...

Didn't you know that that is the goal of all administrators: to eventually have no users messing up their systems? :)
