By the time I reach Heretic, I usually end up with Katana Star Cannon and Fusionfire howitzer, not enhanced. No missile launcher-I never really see the need to use one. (Unless I forget you cant fire laser weapons with Solon sheilds-that sucks.)

In early game I use mining laser + Solon shields. (I turned the shields off when I actually mined). Now I have Yoroi S500 + SN2500 + Plasma Torch. I want a plasma shield generator to pile longzhu spheres on. Last game I had plasma shield generator+100% (better than Iocrym veil) with light Iocrym arm...

Toward the end of my game i had plasma shield generator+90% and a plasma cannon. I had no problem killing them.

try RK15 Partisan turret.

Yea, device-protect+EMP-immune armor is great. Try worldship armor plate.
The only other way I can think of before Heretic is Domina powers.
