All the rest of the pricing mechanics add a huge amount of complexity w/o adding to gameplay - unless you truly enjoy keeping track of current vendor prices on a spreadsheet each game. ). They all encourage odd logistical behaviors, like trying to spread your stock out over several systems t...

On the other side of the coin, vendors not buying when they have a lot in stock encourages the exact same logistical gameplay (which is really quite exploity) as point 1. You either sell all at once or the vendor will stop buying half way through the looting. As another point, decreasing price doesn...

If it's not causing any issues, is it really a bug? Seems more like an unintended feature that allows UNIDs to be conserved.

I (and I think Periculi as well) was talking about Arco. I don't see a problem with him being tougher for a freighter than, say, a Sapphire or a Wolfen, but rather that someone playing a Wolfen just can't lose. Arco doesn't need a nerf, but something that can make him tougher against a Wolfen withou...

I just don't see a problem with different ships being different levels of difficulty. Ship experiences should be different, it's a quality not a problem. It's not so much a problem that the difficult levels are different, but more that if you're in a Wolfen, he just can't kill you. He's meant to be...

Actually, arcos is very weak against the wolfen. One of his problems is how different the experience is for the different ships. I realize that. With the Wolfen, all you need to do is get as close as possible and fire off three missiles, hopefully hitting the same segment of armor all three times. ...

Another possibility is to change the AI so that Arco doesn't pursue the player if the player retreats. Maybe Arco should stop firing after the player's shields go down with a message like, "Go home before you hurt yourself!". Only if the player persists will Arco go for a kill. This is excellent. A...

Yeah, I'd bet you just don't have the rank required to escort most of the docked freighters. Level up at a different Korolov and come back. Also, as far as I can tell, if you skip a mission, you lose the ability to do it altogether. I think I observed this with canceling a mission, too. It would be ...

This is all being thrown in too early. He'd make a great mid-game boss tho. I'm not sure about this. I don't know how tough he is in the Freighter, as I've yet to try, but he doesn't stand a chance against a Wolfen, even with starting gear. His weapons just can't get through the hull plate ionizer ...

Autopilot +1 Being as lazy as I am... I wouldn't mind being able to lock course and speed with an allied/enemy ship. Either sitting right on top of them or sitting a ways back in formation. This could also mean once the targeting computer is installed and you have discovered a base on the map you c...

Actually, I have no clue where I got that idea. I swear I saw something like that while skimming through the XMLs, and it made sense in this situation. Now I can't find it. I must have confused it with something else.

I can't explain why he didn't offer to buy four in the first place, but I think I do know why he offered less when you dropped them. From what I understand of the new pricing system, a station doesn't just lower their price based on their stock, but also how many of the items are in the system, avai...

a general device wouldn't be exclusive to one per ship. Would it be possible to give each of these special bays a custom modifier (Like "Bay") and have the install dockscreen check to see if one is already installed? I think it can be done. the Wolfen has plenty of cargo space I'm always running ou...

well I was thinking it would lower the amount you could hold in your hold and not allow a normal cargo hold at the same time. I don't know how I'd feel about that. As I usually use the Wolfen, it's pretty much a sure thing that I wouldn't use something that lowered my cargo capacity very often. It ...

Or maybe you don't like the idea of cargo holds doing that (so we should just change the name of them)? This here. I don't like the idea of something that gives you more cargo space also unlocking significant amounts of content (like a smelting mechanic) or providing an otherwise large game bonus, ...
