Re: Human Life Expectation
There’s no escaping the fact that Earthlings evolved to thrive with a certain amount of gravity. So since the early days of space travel, NASA has been trying to figure out what happens to a human body beyond our planet’s pull. The answer to your basic question is still being researched, being as no...

Relativistic Particles
Encircling Earth are two enormous rings — called the Van Allen radiation belts — of highly energized ions and electrons. Various processes can accelerate these particles to relativistic speeds, which endanger spacecraft unlucky enough to enter these giant bands of damaging radiation. Scientists had ...

Re: various questions and stuff
VOTG uses the word "disonant" a couple of times but I'm not sure if it should have a double 's' in there. A quick web search didn't really give a definitive answer. Anyone know which spelling is appropriate? There is also the chance it is a cultural difference. dis·so·nant ˈdisənənt' "unsuitable or...

Re: basic shield info
Thanks to Oddball for the topic idea. Shields in Transcendence can have resistances built into them. These resistances affect how long and how well your shield will protect you from enemy weapons fire. As an example look at the first shield in the image below., the hull plate ionizer. On the third ...
