Re: What's your current loadout?
There are a lot of viable loadouts at different stages in the game, but there are a few weapons/armor types/devices that I always seem to fall back on: Pre-St. Kat's: - NAMI missile launcher, since you can get free ammo from Charon pirates and there's a missile type for every situation. Lucifers are...

Re: Wingman
Rama was in the militia, not the fleet; in any case, I would assume that Rama lost any militia rank he had when he absconded in his expensive gunship. My theory is that news of his desertion hasn't gotten around yet, but he would be recognized as being out-of-place if he came onboard a CSC, since th...

Re: Succession Permadeath game on Dropbox
I am going to have to forfeit my turn on Saturday because I will be traveling and doubt that I'll be able to access the internet.
I didn't know that we were using a mod that lets us change our escorts' loadout. How is that accomplished?

Re: Make plot devices use zero slots.
Reactor as a constant device slot tax is annoying too. I disagree. The reactor slot should not be thought of as a tax on regular players but a reward for players doing a reactorless runthrough. If George made reactors slotless he would likely couple it with removing a device slot from all ships whi...

When I got the ship: Nova-100 Mining Laser +Fast Dual Turbolaser MKIII howitzer laser collimator miner's cargo hold blast plate +EMP resist x4 My system was St. Katharine's Star, a nice reprieve after three systems that apparently consisted of nothing but brutal combat. I mined the asteroid belt and...

Ok, Here's the save . Starts you off with everything turned off, next to the Charon cache and the gate to St. kat's. Turn on what you want and go for it...just keep that shield turned off when we don't need it....that thing is an INSANE fuel-drain. At the risk of sounding like a husband trying to j...

Re: Succession Permadeath game on Dropbox
Shrike, did you destroy Kate Morgental's Corporate Enforcer? I always do; immediately having access to her quadrocarbide/Rasiermesser Launcher makes a big difference once you get the Military ROM. She even acknowledges what happens when you get to Charon, although she doesn't say anything about it w...

Re: Korolov Containers Sellable?
This has always been true AFAIK. There's just no point in doing it since they weight like a gajillion tons so the profit-mass ratio is probably the lowest in the game.

I'm also not sure how the acid can damage ANY item in the game, but at the same time leaves MOST of your stuff untouched AND can't damage the inside of your ship at all. Let's be specific- it's an industrial solvent, not necessarily an acid. When an acid "dissolves" something, it's a result of a ch...

Re: Succession Permadeath game on Dropbox
(I don't know the trick to selling huge amounts of stuff). So as a result, there's a crate of ~30-35t of titanium ore and some smartcannon shells near the shops at the arena. Just up from the entrance. Use them wisely. :P Don't feel bad; you can't sell smartcannon shells anywhere and titanium ore i...

Re: Evil Cargo Containers: Post your angst here GRRRRR!!!!
For me, the tandem of jettisoning all of my cargo, open sealed crate, undock, then reclaim cargo. They are a newbie trap. Once the player knows how to avoid the effects (as described above), he can always escape item destruction. For this reason, the acid test effects should be changed or removed a...
