Generate initial systems in some sort of pause mode

Now that the topology is generated up front it can take a while to get going. Currently you get the intro speil, then an OK button, then a delay while it generates the system, then the game starts. Would it be possible to have it generate the topology during the intro, or at least before the OK butt...

It is a trifle odd when there is an undiscovered motherlode right outside a mining station. "No wonder we couldn't find it- Fred had his Centurion parked right on top of it!" Big long names in LRS (blip radar) are very annoying. It is a distraction when I am looking for blips. And a real pain when shooting long distance. There may be a bug in the mining damage table. I think I exited stage-coreward before posting this, so I won't affect me for a while anyway. Besides, having to pay for services somewhat mitigated to Great Economic Disaster that struck the Commonwealth when I left for the core taking *all* the credits (and most of the rins) with me 8-)

Hi

Either my search ability is failing badly or this hasn't been reported yet somehow:

When I reach max rank in the fleet missions, I can no longer use any of their services. Is the engine interpreting zero cost as unavailable?

Unless an unmodded system is loading obsolete ships in the startup display. That would be a minor bug, but none-the-less a bug.

Benedict will sometimes send the player to a weapons store to install stuff. Installation cannot be done at a weapons store.

Edit: So I went to see how bad mining was these days. Cleaning out Eridani wound up getting me less than the price of the mining gear. Ouch...

George, you might have never failed to kill the ships, but you, just like most of us here, are an experienced player. A total newb, would just barely be learning to work the controls at this point. A tutorial mission should let that kind of player get their feet wet with very little chance of death...
