A player will not use the fabricator effectively unless he spoils himself with the tables and stashes plenty of items in various places near a fabricator. Fabricators also appear late, which means the player will need a jumpdrive or gems of despair if he wants to fabricate stuff around midgame.

If Taikon could accept either currency, make services more expensive if credits are used instead of rin. Another idea: Allow the Sisters of Domina do limited currency conversion. Making them heavier would mean only the EI500 would use them. Currently, the only ship suffering from lack of weapon slots is the EI500. The other two ships have to watch their weight as essential device upgrades get progressively heavier.

Not unless the weapons are external and can be damaged, like the NM900 missile pod. Otherwise, slotless weapons are a loophole for the EI500 to evade weapon slot limits. Friendly stations do not mind friendly fire from anyone... except the player. Friendly NPC ships can shoot the station as much as they want without consequence, but the player gets blacklisted and fired upon if he tries it.
