Re: How do I proceed from here?

It's like a birthday come early when that happens! It usually happens in the last two systems before Heretic, and occasionally Gaian processors join the fun, too. In my last game, I witnessed a running battle between a Worldship and a Ranx dreadnought. I really liked the omni thermo cannon. Previou...

Convenience features

Indicate whether or not a system map rom was used in the system. I occasionally find myself wasting them on already-mapped systems. Show information about discovered stations in visited systems on the galactic map. This would make it easier to find the nearest tinker/corporate trade post/etc. Allow...

Re: How do I proceed from here?

It looks like I got lucky in my last game: From the remains of a battle between a Xenophobe fleet and an Ares commune, I was able to salvage an Ares positron cannon and an omni thermo cannon. I had the APC installed on my ship and used it to finish off the last remaining Worldship. The Xenophobes ha...

Game slows down near nebulae if many ships are present.

I've noticed that the game can slow down significantly in/near nebulae if many ships (e.g. Zooanthrope swarm) are present.

My assumption is that the CPU time for calculating stealth/nebula mechanics rises with n*(n-1) ~ O(n²).

Store inventory disappears temporarily.

Occasionally, when trying to buy from a store, I briefly see its inventory, but then it disappears and the "empty" message appears in the items window.

The store is back to normal after leaving and entering it again.

Re: How do I proceed from here?

It's quite a bit easier with an APA, MK V, or Fusionfire. A mark v howitzer? Aren't those just level 7? I haven't seen an Ares plasma archcannon yet. I assume I need to loot it from Ares (cap)ships or stations? Unfortunately, my last game ended a few minutes ago. I managed to get my hands on the IM...

Re: How do I proceed from here?

I guess I'll try finding an IM90 then. And a good shield.

I think I read that some kind of missile defense (ICX/Longreach) is advisable for fighting the ICS?

Re: How do I proceed from here?

My last game seems to be going pretty well. I have visited (and ROM-mapped ... it's an odd compulsion of mine) all systems except for Heretic. Right now, I have an omni ion blaster and the +50% Akan 600 from Dvalin, and a plasma torch. I'm still using a somewhat (+20%) enhanced Invincible-class shie...

Re: How do I proceed from here?

None of these belong in the Beginner's Luck subforum. Well, the caption of the forum is "Ask any question about playing and surviving in the Transcendence universe. ". As long as I haven't managed to complete the game, I'll consider myself a beginner. And I don't really see a forum for more advance...

Well, there are few floor items per se, but you can occasionally find Gaian processors/Xenophobe worldships/other capital ships that got a little too close to Ringer stations.

How do I proceed from here?

I've been playing Transcendence for quite a while, but usually find myself stalled at a certain point in the game. I usually have no problems getting credits by trading/looting/asteroid mining, and I go for 4 segments of solar armor plus a very good shield in the early game so I can explore without ...

I started playing EVE online two weeks ago.

So far, it's great fun. Endless ways of building/outfitting your ship, but I guess unless you're into PvP, it will get boring at some point. Haven't reached that point yet though.

Don't some missiles require a minimum flight time to arm so they don't explode too close to the ship firing them?

mining requires a lot of time, are you really sure you want to use a 200MW weapon to mine for long times ? you reactor would be drained very quickly :D I always bring solar armor and solar panels. And since the volcanic asteroids are usually close to the sun, I have no power problems whatsoever. :P

I don't think it will ever be perfect. There are too many factors unrelated to Transcendence (graphics card, OS, background processes, etc.) Hm, possibly. There have been a few hints of ATI being sloppy on the 2D part of their graphics drivers. (I guess I'm just enough of a fan of snazzy 2D graphic...
