As a game, "Does it have loot and XP? Yes? Kill it!" The story is merely an (elaborate) excuse plot to kill things and take their stuff. but the MORE you play the game the MORE you see the other options that are or should be available: like Mining/ trading / alternatives to stations in the game.......

The existence of a colony really changes nothing at all. Whatever happens desertion in the face of the enemy would be tried in courts martial. And there can still be no such courts unless the Antarctica surrenders unconditionally. EXACTLY: but the script does not let her have the option that is why...

Where is the "I play and repeatedly fail attempts to mod Trans" option? spoilers.......I was not going to tell everything: Kate's encounter has options, including Donation of fuel to her ship : but If you tell players EVERYTHING at once it takes the challenge into " expected events that might not be called on " . ( how often do you donate fuel to Kate?, seriously.... )

Decker should have let her stand trial and not send the fleet to kill the ship : here is my idea of a scenario : the fleet assassins should have come to arrest /helios and escort her back to the capital: this activates as the player goes through the encounter : but instead of the the fleet attacking...
