Re: STARGAZER BULLETIN
Almost everywhere. I know of a few game servers in which it is quite allowable to have (albeit somewhat difficult to maintain) two accounts/empires. (It can be quite hilarious when someone goes to war with themselves to stay in character) But if this is to be strictly forbidden, there needs to be s...

Re: Planets of the Dead - buggy planets in beta
Renaming and redesignating are the things which would reset the variables. Does the planet(s) still have the Empire name of its previous ruler?

Re: Planets of the Dead - buggy planets in beta
Heehee, was that Cthulhu I heard?
My current Alpha empire is Immortal; it had a single sector cap that was conquered and the conquerer abdicated shortly afterwards. I had, in a previous alpha empire, killed two multi-sector-cap empires in a single watch but neither became Immortal.

Re: Troll's attacks
There are now 3 Great Powers left; the Republic, the Felor, and the Terrans. I say we experiment with how well a blitzkreig could work, how effective retaliation to one would be, and if an empire can even survive one, regardless of retaliation measures.

Re: Start with Solar Panel Array
ObjSendMessage can actually send either kind of message. The code below is copied from the auton base class and spawns the "Nice shooting!" type of message on the auton which is acknowledging the "form up" command. (objSendMessage gSender gSource (objTranslate gSource 'FormUpAck "\"Acknowledged\""))...

Re: Start with Solar Panel Array
And it has nothing to do with having message code that I can copy  ). Just stick this in. :) If you wanted, I could put up my code for the Pawnbringer (a device that spawns wingmen and a welcoming message). (objSendMessage gSource Nil "Your text here.") @gunship A fair enough point, although ...

Re: Start with Solar Panel Array
Hmm, that actually might work! You could just steal the molotok code which sends them after the player until they pay off their black market bounty, then spawn a new station in the outer system or borrow one of the container habitats in the Cresent for the player to return the panels to. (or at leas...

Re: Start with Solar Panel Array
Would it work better for the box to EMP the player and then call for the Vikings to show up? That thought had crossed my mind. But since it only happens when the box is opened, a knowledgeable player could then park on top of a friendly station to avoid the danger until the effect wore off. Another...

Re: Start with Solar Panel Array
A possibility is checking for when the player is far enough away from the crescent, then spawning the surprise so that it is between him and the crescent. But then they could just camp on a mining station instead. I think it would be better if it checked for when the player is a certain distance fr...

Re: Start with Solar Panel Array
I love the idea, but it's a little too easy to avoid the...surprise. I just flew straight towards the Crescent (outrunning everything) and they took care of everything for me, leaving lots of good loot.

Re: Project Renegade
I've always wanted to be able to dump something behind me which would destroy or damage ships that are chasing me. Something like a barrel of really powerful explosive or acid. But a power that leaves a gravity or temporal rift or something similar directly behind your ship as you flee that would t...
