Re: Old PC GAmes:Dos to windows 95
Some classics that I still play: Scorched Earth Someone made a 3d remake of that one. I ran into it as a RPM but there's probably a Debian package and versions for other OSs. There usually are. I get the impression it's a lot easier to port from Linux to Windows than the other way around. Yeah the ...

Re: Automatically importing in-game items/ship/etc into the
I think I still have my first 300baud modem from back in the day. I can still remember downloading a game that just about stuffed TWO 5 1/4" floppies and it took 5 hours to get. Those were the days when Britannica was our Wiki and librarians our search engines. I have to say sometimes librarians are...

Re: Hitbox? Hitbox!
A funny part is, although you can't equip it, several piecies often still fit in your cargo hold.

Re: Hitbox? Hitbox!
Actually the facings alone helps. Maybe they should have more facings. 24 maybe? 36?

Re: 1.5 and Eternity Port now available!
It allows you to end the game...
That right there sums up the feel. This is still just side quest stuff. The work that went into this feels more significant but the product lacks a satisfying end. It even knows that.

Re: 1.5 and Eternity Port now available!
I have to say I am somewhat disappointed with Eternity Port. It isn't really a full game but merely a side quest. It's fully challenging in it's own right but at the same time it's lacking the end after the climatic fight scene. I've always felt that the vanilla game was more about the Aries (howeve...

Re: Shields should (usually) be visible on ships.
I'd have to agree that visible shields would more distract from the game play. If the shield on the other hand actually extended past the ship as in the domina power sustain (at least I think it does) then the shield being visible and useful for defending escorted ships would make more sense. Also a...

Re: Ingress
I do that too!
I really like it when someone does a series that you can only look for if you find the first one. Or, when the location is a puzzle.
Found some really neat places that way too.

Re: Ingress
It's not so much the game mechanics that's interesting but the places that are tied to the game that you wouldn't have ever seen if you hadn't played the game. To me it's more like a discovery scavenger hunt, except you shouldn't take what you find.
And yes it's totally gimicky.

Ingress
It's a not too new game but went public this year in April (I think). It's a good way for us gamers to get out and stretch our legs for a little bit. You need a smart phone, recently the iPhones have been added to the available list, and at least a little data to spare. So far I use about 400M of da...

Having issues with random pausing. No ships on screen but a couple in radar range.
