The switchable omni/non-omni weapons were never updated to use 0.99c compatable switching code and should not be on the reccomended list.
To the contrary, all of those switchable posted by me are fully compatible. I have changed the version to .99c to avoid future confusion.

About the patch spider, I just kept forgetting when I got to a station to uninstall it. Plus it doesn't take a device slot and uses very little energy from a 1GW reactor.

I like the plasma over any of the Mammoths because it regens faster. It seems to me that the Kaidun has some vulnerabilities?

In your Transcendence folder, make another folder called "extensions" (minus the quote marks). Place the .xml files that you want to use in that folder.

You can use the RPG that I made. It can be downloaded from xelerus. You probably should take a look at balancing the weapon level with power, it's probably too low. I'm guessing the Firebeam is way over-powered for balanced play. Will the omni-switch weapons work? One or both of those may be useful....
