Re: Styles

Ah yes... nice dark theme again. Thank you so much.

And well, I can deal with the rainbow of colors on the links. Orange and Teal are at least opposite colors, and on the black they look just fine.

Re: MOTM: December (VOTING)

For the record I decline any nomination of Singularity. For one it wasn't made in december, for another it's still woefully alpha version.

[Vanilla XML Bug] Encounter behavior classes

I don't know how to use the bug tracker so I'll post it here. In all the encounter behavior classes (&ev*), there is a line: (setq aTargeObj gPlayerShip) This should probably be: (setq aTargetObj gPlayerShip) That way the playership will be properly targeted and ships will once again fly towards the...

Reguardless of the "pretty name", which if you check the functions on Xelerus and in the source, I'm sure that you can set to whatever you want, you're going to need to make sure each system has a unique "objName".

[Suggestion] objSetVector

We have objMoveTo and objIncVel already, and if you use these two functions together you can set both the position and velocity of a ship. It would be better, I think, if there were one function that could do both. Syntax: (objSetVector spaceObject Vector) where: spaceObject is the object you wish t...

The game already does have some aspects of 3d, if you notice. BackgroundObject="true" makes shipwrecks not bang into planets when you shoot them. There is a parallax background of stars that move by at varying rates (which is not a great example, more just special effects) Some ships transit across ...

Chrome is also natively multithreaded. That means it works freaking awesome on multi-core processors, unlike other programs.

Too bad it's skinning engine, which you can't shut off, sucks so much.

[Suggestion] Shoot-through stations (as an option)

People are using stations for more than just things to kill, nowadays. They're planets, wrecks, even script-holders. Problem is, if they have a picture, they can be shot. You can make them invincible, but you can't shoot through them. In many cases this makes a simple modding task much harder, like ...

Actually, as usual, the act of asking forced me to go back and look. It was the storage that was my problem. I wasn't bounds checking it, and it was causing an error. sysVectorSpeed was overflowing too, and when it does it returned 0x800000 (which is negative long int). And also returned 180 degrees...

I need help to understand why this snippet of code isn't working. The whole thing returns good results the whole way through, then next time it doesn't work. Interestingly, that last line in there, which is supposed to keep the remainder, is only works when theVelocity returns greater than 0. But th...

And I'm working on the next version, cleaning up code and extending the systems, yet again... But this time it's different. I keep getting this weird bug where everything slides to the West at 10% lightspeed... which is really weird since the vector is always the same no matter where the gravity is ...

Speaking of unrealistic radiation. Did you know Chereknov radiation, the kind of radioactive activity that is normally thought of when you actually do think of radiation, is not green at all? Nope.... It's Blue. Pretty Cyanish baby blue. Adorable, cuddly, will-melt-your-face-off-in-10-seconds-flat b...
