Re: Corporate Command Game Balance
It's not specific to CC, but the discussion of how station buy limits affects cargo holds makes me think they should be reworked to be less obtuse and exploity. Probably the limits should be raised, and stations should only offer to buy the difference between what they have and the limit. You'd have...

Re: Best & Worst Weapons
The regular Plasma Cannon was buffed recently and now has basically the same DPS as the APA, but with a much faster rate of fire. Although it doesn't work with the howitzer loader, it's a strong contender for best endgame weapon (and leaves a slot free even on the freighter).

Re: 1.2 RC 1
Oh, I've seen that before with other ships. I think it happens if the highest level ship you've destroyed was a friendly.

Re: 1.2 RC 1
I've noticed the same things a Dmitri. Particularly bad was when I encountered two Charon Strongholds in the third system, one right next to the outbound stargate, the other not too far away. After much backtracking and reliance on pilgrim's aid, I managed to defeat the Charon frigate guarding one o...

Re: 1.2 RC 1
Mining doesn't seem to work anymore. I tried in multiple systems with multiple types of asteroids and didn't find any ore.

Re: 1.2 Beta 3 is ready!
A ship could leave whenever there are no empty slots. Also, ships that are guarding could patrol rather than just sitting there docked. I haven't had the wrong message when installing devices again. It definitely happened when I was installing a shield at a station in Eridani. Some level 1 unidentif...

Re: 1.2 Beta 3 is ready!
-The first two times I tried to start a game, Transcendence crashed when I clicked OK at the adventure select screen. I had already waited for the visible indication that it was downloading something to go away. Windows reported this: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX Application Name: Tran...

Re: Transcendence speedrun planning
There's no need to kill the pteravores, I'll just let them kill the Svalbard. The Plasma Archcannon is pretty awesome. I used it in my first successful playthrough. The Wolfen starts with two free weapon-only slots, so that's no problem. The trouble is obtaining it. I don't think that Ares Shipyards...

Re: Transcendence speedrun planning
I've been meaning to post but I keep starting to answer questions and then thinking, "I should really test that." So I've been learning a lot about tlisp. My main concern now is the ICS fight. It's pretty reluctant to be kited away from the stargate (it has a patrol order), so getting it lined up an...

Re: Transcendence speedrun planning
It turns out escorting the Svalbard doesn't count as a mission, so it makes sense to offer to escort and then just let the pteravores kill it. Most late game enemies are basically immune to starting weapons, but not Ares sentries. They die easily to Longbow missiles. So a bare minimum plan would be:...

Re: Transcendence speedrun planning
Thanks, Amilir. I think I saw that report in another thread, but it's nice to have the details fleshed out. Under 2 hours seems very fast for a straight playthrough (Single Segment, as it's called at SDA). How long did your ICS fight take? Ideally, I'd like to achieve zero relative velocity to it, l...

Re: Transcendence speedrun planning
Yes, the Wolfen is the fastest and starts out most combat capable. SDA would consider them separate categories, but I'm not interested in doing the others. Halo gems and jumpdrive are the main things I'm interested in- if there's even a slight chance they can show up in an early system, I'm willing ...

Transcendence speedrunning
Hi. I've been a fan of Transcendence for several years, but I only got serious and completed it after 1.1 came out. I'm also a longtime member of Speed Demos Archive and I'm thinking about doing a segmented speedrun (using saves and attempting each part multiple times). If anyone here is interested ...
