1.6 Beta 4

Beta 4 is ready for download!
This is a minor update that fixes a few important bugs, including a problem buying armor. The full list of fixes is here:

My game crashed during auto - update. Don't know any details, unfortunately, but I was playing with the start screen when it happened.

Could you describe this issue with a bit more detail? it sounds like you may have found a bug.

Sure. If you have the dock service items hidden, then if you can't install an item (no spare device slots, no military ROM or simply not enough cash) the price for buying & installing the item won't show up. Unhiding dock services allows the prices to be seen in the normal buy/sell commodities exchange as they were pre-1.5 (incidentally that toggle could do with a bit of highlighting - took me a couple of weeks before I noticed it
)
Oh, & while I'm at it are the Tinkers meant to refuse to use a weapon that's been enhanced? (omni x-ray - I had one built in my first playthru but this time they're ignoring me ('You don't have an omni laser' - yes I bloody do, my ship started with it & it's now sitting in my cargo hold since you won't upgrade an installed device..!
)

I don't understand, exactly. If "dock service items are hidden" then you can't see dock service items, so you shouldn't be able to install them. Could you, explicitly, list out the steps that you took and what you saw? Thank you!

I don't understand, exactly. If "dock service items are hidden" then you can't see dock service items, so you shouldn't be able to install them. Could you, explicitly, list out the steps that you took and what you saw? Thank you!
What I *think* this means is that in the Upgrade X section of the dock services, items (or at least the prices) will not show up unless you can install the item then and there. Enabling the dock service items in the main trade screen allows you to see the price and purchase that way. Haven't confirmed this myself though.

Yep, that's it. I'm not bothered about the items themselves not showing up (it seems that only valid upgrade options show ATM), but of the items that /do/ show, the price should be visible even if you don't have the cash or otherwise to install said item

I just redownloaded and had multiple extension download failures with "Error downloading: No response from server at multiverse.kronosaur.com.". I did manage to make it work after several restarts. Only change I've made is to change graphics quality to maximum from auto.
I'm on Windows 8 on my Asus X205TA Eeebook Netbook connected to the internet via my fairly typical WPA2 home WiFi. I haven't noticed any issues with internet connectivity otherwise across multiple devices.

Try disabling your antivirus. It tends to disrupt Transcendence updates.

I dont think this qualifies as a bug but it is something i didnt realise untill a while ago when i was trying to finish one darn game of eternity port a few days ago
if you are docked at a commonwealth fortress, i mean the one where you get the first mission to patrol the orbital lanes and get the militia missions, i had the eurasian diarchy and the asian pacific defense military tags (roms or scrolls or letters of something) but i didnt have the military ID. i couldnt access the armory to see what items were available to buy untll i did the patrol the stargate lanes mission and got the ID.
i was under the impression that if you had any of the faction's equivalent military ID you could also get the militia armory access.
also i think its rather disappointing if you get "accidentally" blown up by the nagato ship when you get the mission from the eurasians to scan it and stay in the blue circle. Perhaps a small addition to the mission details saying in bold " KEEP YOUR DISTANCE IT MAY BE HOSTILE" might help players who are trying for a permadeath playthrough.
anyhow i get that since eternity port might not be the main focus of a larger chunk of the people who play, and the few who are trying permadeath runs would have probably encountered being accidentally blasted a long long time ago, it might be worthwhile to consider adding the warning to that particular mission maybe?
also, im loving the new graphics for the weapons and the armor. are there any plans in the future to implement any graphical upgrades to the other equipment (quantum cpu, icx and longreach and the various weapon enhancement stuff) and shield generators ?

Sorry, I think I found something that is NOT my fault..I am pretty sure of it
so, there I was closing the game and I saw THIS :
I am pretty sure it was not ME, but I did have this same issue with my own frigates that I gave the Centauri - I copied the image descriptions out of the last source on xelerus so I was hoping that solved it...
Anyway, back to flying after I read the .xml for station anger time out ..I am tired of being shot at.

That looks like an overwritten Charon Frigate in an older mod. The sprite got upsized a bit recently, and that screenshot looks like a classic case of a mod that’s declaring the wrong size for a ship’s sprite.
No, I wouldn’t know a thing about that from personal experience in my own modding career. Whatever would make you think that? <.< >.> <.<;
