RC 2 has been deployed!

This build fixes a couple of major bugs:

1. The bug with Scarab freighter and Gaian Processor has been fixed. Thanks for reporting this!
2. I fixed a major crash bug with DynSys (due to a bad error path in the engine).

Thanks to everyone who gave feedback and keep those reports coming!

Trying it out now.

-There is a money bug that was also present in 1.6 RC1.
When you do some actions in the dock screen, you get a price quote, but the money paid is far more:

I docked on the Eridani drydock to upgrade my new Sapphires armor to light plasteel, for the price of 260 per segment. But the actual money subtracted from my account was 3-4 times more, I think.

The same thing happened last version starting in Tau Ceti with a Freyr, but with something like 12.000 credits earned from trading gone in seconds, I could not understand why. It must have been connected to buying/upgrading equipment from the relatively new dock screen, I believe now.

(It does not happen when I buy a normal piece of equipment and has it installed I *think*, more testing should be done. However, since it has happend twice with me in 3 starting games, it will be very annoying for a new player learning the game to have all their hard earned money gone without explanation, so it should be looked at before 1.6 release.)

Alright, this was in the beta 2, but I didn't report it at the time.

I got the following error when downloading the files from Multiverse with the new version of Transcendence:
(Note lower left, above the Load Game button.)
When this error occurs, downloading stops, and is not resumed unless you quit Transcendence and restart it.

I can't reproduce this at all. If anyone can reproduce it, please let me know.

One thing I just noticed: Shops do not lower their buy back prices as their inventory of a given item grows. Player can still get full price as long the shop does not have too much (or player's inventory exceeds theirs). Shops still refuse to buy if they have too much and player does not have a bigger inventory than them. This is a welcome change. No longer do I need to sell one then horde the rest until I can sell in bulk for maximum profit unless I need to beat the absolute limit.

I have had this happened to me just now on 1.6 RC2. I had more than 3000 credits, I upgraded only the front armor segment to Solar armor (930 credits total) through the armor dealer's "Armors and Shield" dockscreen and now there is only 645 credits left. I think the money that's being substracted is almost 3 times the quoted price of buying+installation.

I was in Freyr in tau ceti.

I found the bug--not a moment too soon.

This turned out to be a very subtle re-entrancy bug, in which the act of removing an armor segment from a station (to install it on the player) would cause the dock screen list to reset (since the inventory changed) and end up selecting the top item on the list (usually the most expensive one); when it came time to charge the player, because the cursor was reset to a different item, we would charge whatever the price of the top item was.

Glad to have helped finding this bug, good that you could fix it before Steam release. I have not fond any others, unless you count extremely long Korolev escort missions in binary systems. They should perhaps only offer escorting to destinations in the local solar system if it is a binary, else it get really frustrating to do them.

YES please! It took one of my freighters something like ten minutes round trip.

Alternatively, some way to match a target ship's speed/direction would be incredibly useful, and for more situations than just this one. Half my problems would be instantly solved if this were implemented!
