This new version should download automatically if you're using RC 1. If not, please download at the usual place: http://kronosaur.com/downloads/TranscendenceNext.zip
It fixes several bugs with music in WINE and also several bugs with DirectX.
Please try it out, especially if you were having problems with RC 1.
If you still have problems with graphics, please try with /debugVideo and send me the Debug.log file. Also, please experiment with the settings on this page: https://ministry.kronosaur.com/record.hexm?id=6175
This version also has a few new functions to support hit testing. See: https://ministry.kronosaur.com/record.hexm?id=7261 and https://ministry.kronosaur.com/record.hexm?id=1898
Assuming this version remains relatively stable, I'll do a final release (and a Steam release) by early next week.
Thanks as always for your feedback!

I still get a blank black screen when I launch it. On the other hand, setting forceNonDirectX to “true” fixes that.

Full debug output, several launches and one game started to poke around in Eridani for a bit. Note, the topmost entry was a random crash on launch.

That's correct--it's built on the same system that downloads your collection, so it needs to be signed in. But in the future I should move it to another (non-signed in) part.Shrike wrote:Noticed that RC1 doesn't update to RC2 unless you've logged into multiverse (I assume, since I don't have it logged in yet). Will test it properly later today.
I believe I fixed the problem about music not playing. Please try it and let me know.

The first one here is with forceNonDirectX="false", the second is with forceNonDirectX="true". Also, I ran with /debugSoundtrack on because I couldn’t get it to play, and then realized from the debug output that it kinda needs to, you know, have the soundtrack if it’s going to play it. <.< >.> <.<;

The new hitscan functions are nice, I can finally make my mod weapons behave as intended, and not be so overpowered by passing through everything.
However, it would be nice if (sysHitScan source start end) accepted criteria because it passes through planets.

I'm using Freyr right now, and to my suprise NAMI stiletto missile lose their tracking properitis (they only follow target that is in range of the swivel main weapon)
Launcher behave like any other Rasiermesser weapon (if it's loaded with tracking missile).
Stilettos on other ships behave as usual.

It seems to me that every tracking/omni weapon on a ship should have its own automatic targeting when manual targeting is not in use. That way limited angle weapons don't break all the other ones.Tantarian wrote:I'm using Freyr right now, and to my suprise NAMI stiletto missile lose their tracking properitis (they only follow target that is in range of the swivel main weapon)

That's why I'm thinking something is wrong. Look at that screenshot. That Corsair should be in range of automatic targeting system, but it's not working.JohnBWatson wrote:

I think this is a bug. The Freyr's swivel has broken the tracking of the Stiletto. I added a record: https://ministry.kronosaur.com/record.hexm?id=7528Tantarian wrote:That's why I'm thinking something is wrong. Look at that screenshot.
