Sorry admins. if this is in the wrong forum, I did'nt know if I should put it here or off-topic. Partly bcuz alot of people use these 3 key combos to fly and attack stations in T.

I am having trouble with my keyboard not responding when I press & hold 3 or more keys at once. I have researched it and it's called Phantom Key Blocking.

Phantom Key Blocking means that when two or more keys are depressed simultaneously, many of the other keys on the keyboard will not respond until one of the three depressed keys is lifted. This happens when I hold up+left+spacebar when I want to circle a station to kill it. It is really annoying and means I can't fire missiles or quickly readjust my route without letting go of keys. Which really screws me up. :x
This is 1 of the websites I stumbled upon that explained it a little. This guy's buddy had kind of the same problem.

I don't have any of those accessibility options enabled so it can't be those. (Toggle keys, Sticky keys, etc.)

Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? I fear that it is just my keyboard bcuz alot of cheap ones and even some expensive ones have this problem. My keyboard is a stock one that came with my 3 year old E-Machines computer.

I have the exact same problem... space, up, and left won't work, but space, up, right does (did, before up arrow died anyway).

I solved it by mapping shoot to left shift (and missiles to z).

Before Transcendence 1.02 came out I had to use autohotkey to do it, but now I just change the settings file.

This is probably a "feature" of your keyboard. If it's really bad get an old keyboard.

My netbook occasionally suffers from this. My main computer's does not, not that I think of anyways.

It's a limitation of the keyboard. Not the game. All buttons (except qualifiers like CTRL, ALT, SHIFT etc) of the keyboards are arranged in an array and only some simultaneous keypresses can be correctly identified. All keyboards has this problem but they may have it in different ways, since the buttons may be arranged differently in the array.

There are some high end keyboards that don't have this limitation. THey are usually very expensive. The OmniKey is one of them and it's not anymore in production. :?

You can get around it by using the alternative key commands. (J=left, K=thrust, L= right).

The arrow-key issue is especially common on laptops and netbooks.

Actually, I think all stock keyboards manufactured after the late 90s have this problem.
