If you hit the autopilot button, you'll notice the particle stream from a thrusting ship gets longer. It looks like it doesn't speed up like weaponfire (or anything else) does under time acceleration.
This is particularly noticeable if you can get a large ship to "orbit" (by glitching the AI), such as Anton Nasser.
