Game slows down near nebulae if many ships are present.

I've noticed that the game can slow down significantly in/near nebulae if many ships (e.g. Zooanthrope swarm) are present.
My assumption is that the CPU time for calculating stealth/nebula mechanics rises with n*(n-1) ~ O(n²).

Yup, me too. Happens on my laptop though, the more powerful desktop is alright.
