Personally I find that using a powerful / ion reflecting shield helps with the damage (iirc the ventari use ion weapons). But most of all I find having a long range / omni weapon helps the most, since you can stay clear of Ventari Cruiser Weapons range.

Wolfen II can carry it. You have to trade cargo displacement though so I suggest use a mule330 auton.Yama wrote:Hi Erik, erik dela cruz wrote:Aha! The Ventaris. I say kill em all! Hahaha.
Seriously though, I suggest, farm the Dwargs for their ion/particle reflect armors then beat the crap out o' em Ventaris......
Sounds like fun!
Only trouble is that stuff's so gawd awful heavy you can only install it on a freighter.
And since Deltax mentioned being inconvenienced by the weight of Akan ammo, I'd seriously doubt he's flying one of those.....

I pilot the sapphire, freighters are just to slow for me. I had to stop killing ventauri because all the stations ran out of money from buying all the loot . The katana star cannon is good for ventauri too, there long ranged and do ion damage.

They used to hold the title of "Ultimate Space-Jerks" prior to the disruptor cannon getting changed from device damage to device disrupt (disruption can STILL PERMANENTLY DAMAGE DEVICES if the device gets enough disruption damage over a short period of time), which while nerfing the ventari, made them not un-fun as they used be, and also made the disruptor cannon useful for the player (because now it didn't destroy your loot)

I've run into them since I've played the game a few times (just had no damn idea what I was doing until I found this forum) and while annoying I can kill them, the Thermo Cannon works pretty good on them honestly, just they keep coming,Lord they keep coming, like friggin' cockroachesTwir wrote:Wait till you see the ares!Krull wrote:I just ran into them here in the last few days, went something like:"oh,hey lookit that boxy 'ol ship~let's blow it up" annnnnnnnd all my stuff went bye-bye and I went poofy, fast, real fast and was going

Dunno why I just met the Ventauri but it's been akin to meeting the Terminator......

HINT: your ship is not prepared for the Ventari but they are not early enough in the game that you do not havre the chance to try Commerce trading with stations : if you loot Illegals take them to the Hotel Restaurant OR if you do not mind a fight, you can hunt the Black Market Traders ( those are the boxy ships with Zulu escorts, some are friendly some are hostile ) they carry ID chips that can get you into the Black Market.
Once in the Black Market you gain status by BUYING items ( buy the smugglers cargo hold / cargo hold upgrade in the dock services )
take the illegals to the Corporate Enclave, a large station with nightclubs to sell.
use your profits to buy better stuff sold by the Black Market or earned from them in promotions / missions. THEN you will meet the Ventari with a new attitude and they love attitude
