Korolov ships attempt to avoid enemy stations. This is generally a good thing, because it means the ship you're escorting won't try to fly over a pirate fortress then blame you for failing to defend it. However, if there are a lot of enemy stations, the ship may fly around like a ping-pong ball trying to stay away from them all. If you want Korolov ships to fly more directly, destroy a few of the enemy stations.
