The ship's default reactor is a part of the ship and invisible. For reactor upgrades, such as the various Nova reactors, they may be viewed as any other device. Fuel efficiency is a hidden stat. Most reactors in the standard game have standard or slightly better fuel efficiency. Reactors with standard fuel efficiency go from full to empty after 125 seconds of sustained peak power usage. How do I check what reactor is installed in my ship's bowels? A: On the upper left corner of the HUD, you can see its power output. No way to tell its Fuel Efficiency though.

If you really want to know it's listed here:
http://transcendence.kronosaur.com/wiki ... s/reactors
For example, the Nova 25 has a fuel efficiency of 15, whatever that means.

Will copy-paste this on YouTube later. Thanks PM! This should help players who have a similar question.PM wrote:The ship's default reactor is a part of the ship and invisible. @RPC:
About "has a fuel efficiency of 15, whatever that means."
There actually is a thread regarding fuel efficiency: http://forums.kronosaur.com/viewtopic.php?t=2307
Part 9 is currently being uploaded. It's the best video of the series so far: I found a solar panel array! The video also touts one of the better AIs of the game:
From the video's description box: "I encounter an outlaw craft that displays impressive AI; every time its shields drop it flees to regenerate its shields then comes back again for another pass."
I will make Part 10 today or tomorrow.

Awesome! So long as the difficulty's not unrealistically difficult, I love a good challenge. I even upped the stakes in two of my playthroughs:
Let's Play Torchlight 2 (Engineer; Veteran Difficulty)
F.E.A.R. Walkthrough (No SloMo; Extreme Difficulty)
I hope to meet these marauders soon. >)_)
Part 9 is up by the way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kVZ3rH_3Ng
Part 10 is now up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Zj6KeAw44E
EDIT: Bought a Turtle Beach Z11 gaming headset. Audio should be cleaner starting Part 11 (which is being compressed at the moment).

Will have to buy better armor in Part 15; had my first run-in with missile corvettes. Died in Part 14.

Hey! The good thing about the starburst missiles is that they don't need to hit directly on a ship to damage it, in early game they can be quite useful because they actually explode in proximity to an enemy ship, into 8 fragments, each of which do 5.5 (kinetic) dmg, So in reality they have potentially More damage than the longbow missiles.
A tip: when dealing with several enemies (especially those with shields) and equipped with an omnidirectional weapon it is most tactically efficient to press [T] and then follow after the arrow indicator in order to focus and shoot down one of them at a time.
The ship which killed you (though you did not get to see it) was a pirate frigate, they run in escort with 3-5 corsair II ships and are equipped with four (4) dual turbolaser cannons and KM500 missiles (tracking, 14 dmg) this means that unless you have level 5 armor and level 4-5 shields then you are best of either long range sniping it (while shooting down the missiles), or avoiding it entirely until you are so equipped.
Oh yeah, you'd better kit yourself out as well as possible before entering the Charon system (the reason, you'll see when you get there).

Alternatively if you have a laser or particle type weapon with decent damage and high rate of fire is to try and take out their escorts with Starbursts or gunfire and do a glass-cannon on the the frigate and kill them before they kill you. The rewards for killing one quickly are fairly good (just don't explode the wreck if you use missiles. It's very annoying), especially since it means you can do a lot of damage before the escorts are replaced. They're significantly harder than the Drake missileship, but still have fairly weak armor against beam-type weapons. Except the Surprise. Which I'm not going to spoil for you in case you find it for yourself.FourFire wrote: The ship which killed you (though you did not get to see it) was a pirate frigate, they run in escort with 3-5 corsair II ships and are equipped with four (4) dual turbolaser cannons and KM500 missiles (tracking, 14 dmg) this means that unless you have level 5 armor and level 4-5 shields then you are best of either long range sniping it (while shooting down the missiles), or avoiding it entirely until you are so equipped.

Spaceship not as astrodynamic, so it needs...spoilers? Here you go.
The Surprise has blast plate, so particle guns rip it apart about as well as they rip apart the frigates before it. The problem with the Surprise is that killing it instantly finishes the Korolov plotline, giving the player the final reward but bypassing an arguably better one that one might find on the way.
