In most IRCs I know you just click a button on their website, put in what you want your username to be, and voíla.

I don't get the tools-connect. Is it on your internet program? Cause I don't see any "connect".

Between this step:
Download mIRC from here: http://www.mirc.com/get.html. Get it from a location close to you, though I always download it from US.
and this one:
Press Alt + O or go to Tool --> Options. Expand the "Connect" category, if it's not already expanded. Click on "Servers". Click "Add" and enter the info below:
there is an implied instruction, install and open mIRC.

As for downloading... look at them yo-yos on the mtv... that's the way you do it... they get their downloads for nothing and their chicks for free.

You can set mirc to "connect on startup" under the "File/Select server" and then "Options" menu under "Connect". Also under that Options tab, you can click on "Perform" check "Enable perform on connect". Then, type "/join #transcendence" in the text box and hit OK. Now every time you start mirc it will automatically connect you to the server and join the channel, so all you have to worry about is providing witty commentary.

seems to work from inside mozilla/ chatzilla add-on, too. couldn't say how I managed it, but... :)

Got it set up with mIRC. I'll probably pop in now and again. Or I might leave it running all the time. Don't know yet.

could you gimme some pointers about how you made that work. Chatzilla makes no sense to me. :(

EDIT: Yaaay i dot it to work. Little help from the chatzilla FAQ page...
