what is your favorite enemy faction in each of the following areas?
1)artistic design:
2)story line/arc:
3)back story:
3.5)most potential for an awesome backstory
4)best ai:
5)funniest ai:
6)most dangerous
for me:
1)probably the ranx
2)maybe the ares- yeah, the ares
3)oh my... we need back story... Iocrym has only Arco for competition in this spot. Antarctica doesn't count.
3.5)Penitent! Ranx and ares would tie for second...
4)Arco... his is unique though...
5)luminous because they fire backwards they end up shooting eachother/other pursuers instead of you when they chase you...
6)well...
a) in a freighter- ranx dreadnoughts (can't dodge!)
b) in a wolfen/sapphire- ventari destroyer ( disruptor keeps messing up my favorite weapons on my ship! And then it just has to be my fusion fire or plasma cannon that gets damaged and I used up all the trade posts buying longzhu's)
favorite enemies?

The Ranx, they have awesome black ships and devastating weapons. Even the Ranx gunship is not easy to take on, unlike the sandstorm *cough. In a game a couple a days ago I had just upgraded to a plasma shield and a fusion fire howitzer. Pretty good setup right? I thought it was, until seven Ranx gunships beat the crud outta me. What a bummer.
This is our game. And George is our hero.

Xenophobe mostly due to I like how they all live in ships and kill everything they come across with no regard for the player.
Ranx do have some great ships though.

What do you think about the endless stream of spawns ?
What about modding wandering spawns which dont attack the player directly ?

your list is a bit off Wolfy
other than the obvious Iocrym and Luminous and Defective Auton not being human, Zoanthropes is a classification not a specific unified group
Sheltem's looks good for the most part other than the minor quibble of if the Luminous count as alien

well, in one of the encounters zoanthropes was listed as a group as well, which is why I listed it as such...Betelgeuse wrote:your list is a bit off Wolfy

1) Phobos (but not so much the rest of the Ares), followed closely by the Ranx Dreadnaught.
2) Atlantica/Confederation storyline
3) Back story? What back story? Never read em.
4) Dwarg Master is certainly the most effective AI.
5) Ferian Hive Swarm reaction when you accidentally tag their base. Ouch!
5b) Dwarg switching sides when you kill masters/bases.
6) Ranx Dread, until I realized you just DON'T DODGE. Now, Ares cap ships. Without a huge shield or ion reflect those ion turrets suck.
