Thought I'd share these cool screenshots, I have more too that I'll get around to posting some time, but this was one missile it took out 500 aquila cruisers.

Sounds a little unbalancing to me. :P
Last Cause Of Death: Destroyed by Karl Svalbard's last Lucifer missile, right after I blew him up. And the crowd cheers.

Technically you only have to kill one Aquila and the explosion will cause a chain reaction on others, same with the CSCs. I had that happen while playing BattleZone, the game choked down to around 4-5 fps trying to draw all the explosions!

I call this one Battle Zone Mayhem!

(edit: changed thumb to full pic, thanks digdug!)

Deimoses tend to do this too, (just two dying at once it enought for total fratricide.)

BTW- don't use imageshack thumbnails, here: either post full size (since the board scales them down anyways), or post a link. The board only sees the thumbnails.

to this:
http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/7488 ... ayhem2.png

and you get the full image.

Try it with CSC's! (they use thermo explosion4, that's the largest there is)

Not with a high enough level shield :P
and getting 5000 of them involves cheating anyways... (or major tweaks to battlezone...)

They would all hit each other so only the first row of cannons would be a threat. and they would kill themselves for you.

that would still take a long time... particle will take forever trying to chew through that P1000 hexphase...

What you would do is give yourself a custom insane damage single fire non-fragging weapon and Heirosteel Plate. Hit one with a 2^16-1 (or 2^15-1 if damage is signed) damage WMD7 dark steel gun and it goes kaboom. If it doesn't take all the others with it blast another and it goes kaboom. Heirosteel Plate is immune to pretty much everything so they won't kill you and neither will the explosions.

Try spawning *2000* Aquilas when you are next to a freindly station..THEN......ze circle of wrath, then invoke sustain. And defend, in this case.

Using a bog-standard NEC "Versa" P9110 Laptop....you should see this after approx 1-1.5hrs, if you click the screen at that point. At that stage there should have been no screen refresh, but the odd sound of explosions/hits/damage, for about 10-20 minutes.....

Image
(Expand it (clickity clickity click-click clicky!) to see the details in the background....Behind the white overlay and the WinEx error message. :P .)

Cockpit Voice recording from my Wolfen after the explosion, but before the game crash:
Shrike: Volkov, you can form up again.

*Silence*

Shrike: Volkov?

*Silence*

Shrike: Volkov, do you copy?

Shrike: .....

Shrike: Vol'? You OK?

*silence*

Shrike: Oh.... Yeah.

*pause*

Shrike: I forgot to tell him to stand off in the first place....

*muffled swearing*

In case you need telling....don't do this if you want to have a savegame afterwards. Unless you have a Franken-comp with eighteen-thousand and seventy processors in the 3Mb+ range, several billian gigs or RAM, and a liquid cooling system the size of Belgium...you're gonna be lagged for a LONG time, even if you don't have a crash... Although I suspect some standard desktops MIGHT be able to cope with this, lagged over half an hour-1hr....however, given that my lapop wasn't even on 0.1 FPS....I wouldn't bet on it. When I did this, it took a full TWENTY FIVE MINUTES before I was able to see the damge ring made by the C.O.W. And I saw that as the hits on the exploding Aquilas (AFTER the blasts started), NOT as the purple ring of burny death stuff. That took another 10 mins to show up, possibly more. And I was seeing stills of the blasts, not anything you could measure in terms of FPS (except maybe by the sounds?)...at the rate of one every few minutes. Big differences between them, but still lagged.

Damned impressive though.
