I just finished honored permadeath+never backtracked on 1.02

Hi All,

This is the first permadeath game that I actually finished. When 1.02 came out I saw "never backtracked" in conducts and decided to go all out making my life difficult. :-D

Just to get "Never backtracked", I had to give up on the lamplighter, because by the time I got enough levels to access the bridge I was in the system *right after* Point Juno. :roll:

Killed the ICS with an unenhanced Ares Archcannon and a +50 Ion Reflector shield on an EI500. I also finished with 25 unused longzhus, because... I was sleepy by the time I got to Heretic and forgot I had them *facepalm*.

The last version I played was 0.97 way back when; glad to see Transcendence getting even more fun with every release.

You can also post your stats on xelerus. There Bimbel will eventually be able to pull some data out of it and make a global scoreboard or similar :)

But bimbel currently dosn't really have the time to do so! Also he will have to deal with some design questions first (how to save all that data and so on)

Currently it's still pretty inconvenient and I thought about putting the data into some xml-thingy. Though I have no clue how to do so ;)

Wow! This is quite impressive.

I want to try doing a no backtracking game sometime in the future, but I think I'd have to give a lot of things up.

I don't think you could normally get the lamplighter cannon, in any case. As the Terra doesn't normally spawn in the same system as the Antarctica.

I think the lamplighter prototype at least might have been available if I had just one more CSC before Point Juno.

I found it more fun than my previous 1.01 normal permadeath games; there was a lot more that I needed to do both before jumping out of a system and immediately upon entering one that just wasn't an issue in normal games.
