I thought that it might be fun to create a test to gauge how experienced everyone was. Then post your scores here!
There are 5 questions here:

1. Have you made it to Heretic?
C. 1-2 times

2. How do you set up your ship?
D. I have a carefully planned ship layout.

3. How many times have you beaten Transcendence?
A. Never

4. When you see a Phobos coming, you:
C. Hide amongst the planets and kill it through strategy

5. How many times do you tend to die on a game?
A. Never finished, so I don't know how many I'll have

Have you ever beaten the game with Permadeath?
A. No

Have you ever beaten the game with Permadeath?
A. No

Hmm, only 16 points. I may have 26, but since my potential permadeath was either a .99 or one of the 1.0 rc releases, it's hard to remember.

1 - D (5 times, I think, one time I didn't finish)
2 - C (I don't really "carefully plan" my ship layout, but I know what weapons, shields, etc. I like best in different parts of the game and usually get them)
3 - C (going past Heretic? 4 times)
4 - B (most of the time... with PSD and 400+ weapons on one of my games I would've gotten a C or maybe D)
5 - D (67-110 on my four completed games, the 110 wasn't with the EI500, so going with D)
Bonus question - Me? Permadeath? Impossible

Noob here!

1: B - I've been there using a debug godmod, but in a real game I've never even got to PJ
2: C - I have a few favorite configurations, usually a howitzer and lancer past St. K's, and a star cannon once it's feasible. Never had to progress past that point.
3: A.
4: A. Obviously I know about them, but I've never fought one, so A is the most appropriate answer. Unless I'm absolutely loaded with thermo missiles. Then, bring it ON!
5: C, possibly D. I've never finished so I'm not sure, but in the midgame my answer is usually "dozens".
Bonus: A. Yeah, not trying that for a while ;P
