Choosing gender in T menu

Why we need to choose a gender in main menu ? It's change something in the game? Or it's only for stats ? I'm just intresting

There are a few texts that change slightly depending on gender, but the choice doesn't change any opportunities or abilities in vanilla Transcendence (yet).

all it changes is his/her he/she sir etc, nothing really important in game (like how many missions you do and what they are)

Gender feature:
Actually I always found the element to be " personalization " : it is a RPG game and would be unkind to the genre of " RPG " if it had no personalization to the character .

Imagine your name is Charles, your piloting a freighter and you come across a disabled ship.....how Rude would it be if the pilot you meet keeps calling you John ?

You risk your ship and hours of game time to reach Domina and she calls you Fred.....

For those that have not discovered it:
you can also change the NAME of your game profile. This also affects the game script as in " good luck, Fred!" instead of " good luck , Owner!"
just click the "name space" for Owner and type in the name you want to use, during the game the scripts will change to calling you by that chosen name.

There is one more thing it controls; after saving Raisu Station, if you are male, the stationmaster "hugs you again and whispers her name in your ear". If you are female, she simply "hugs you again".

...I'm kinda disappointed

this was taken from the "RumorsSE" of a (commonwealth habitat). so some point in time you should have "heard" her name.

If you talk to a stationmaster in Eridani, after having completed the Raisu mission, sometimes he'll use that line Shane quoted. If you've never tried to get a mission in Eridani after polishing off Arco Vaughn, you've probably never encountered that bit of dialog during a game.

Eventually that functionality I think will be moved to the adv. ext. selection part (after talking to george about it), because for some mods (cough wyvera cough) it simply doesn't make sense for the player's stat screen to display "human" as their species...
