I think i saw something about the High Score not taking Extension games : If so and I blew myself up to see if it registered : then playing my Miner is not worth much. But it is fine with me , I beat the ICS in a freighter , I can do it again anytime :)

If the High Score only takes standard games: that , I think , could make the Mod Exchange " iffy " ( unless Mod players just play because it is transcendence , like we do, then it's fine ) or
a Mod High Score with approved Mods ( Adventures, Tinkers, Dynamic Systems ; Black Market Mod )/ Playerships ( Stock Ships Playable, or other approved ships )that do not give the player more power then a Wolfen but maybe more missions ( Mission Framework ) , extra mining options ( Ore to Ingots, Commerce Mods like the Universal Savings Bank ) .

I DO NOT suggest that " all Mods " should be Ok to go into a Mod High Score or it would get flooded with God / Omni Mod stuff ( even I still keep the Star trek and Battlestar Galactica stuff in my folders, and the Vipers + the Phasers are enough to make Oracus scream )

George, I had another recurrence. This time it crashed on docking with the St. Katharine's Star arcology after some serious backtracking. It was interesting because there was no crash message; the grey crash window came up but there was no text in it.

also lol 1,140 shots from the Rasiermesser launcher and that's before even hitting Point Juno. I had to use the PK25 until I started seeing Ares; I couldn't find an Akan 600 until I hit Dvalin. Protip- the PK25 is not very effective against Ventari or Kobol.

Also I'm pretty sure that I used almost every Helium-3 fuel rod generated in-game that wasn't in a friendly ship or destroyed in explosions.

Some idea for handling highscores for games with custom extension:

(as an alternative to submitting them to xelerus)

The scores submitted could be grouped by extension UNIDs used:
The would be a group for each set auf extensions used. So I you submit a highscore for you game you get the list for all highscores which use the same extensions.

I think this would also be a good idea for xelerus to make different highscores comparable.

The problem with that is sometimes people dozens of mods and some mods modify the game more then other mods, and some are official and some are not official. I know from experience there are some mods that simply change things like remove nav beacons and do not adversely affect gameplay.

Major mods need to be identified and ideally adventure extensions would be labeled differently in a high score table.

I just got a crash when I tried to access Tao Tie system (2 system from Point Juno)...which is weird since it can be accessed before but after I skipped Point Juno using the jumpdrive, nearly got myself killed by the Gian (although managed to kill it), loot Ion Deflector, 2 Demo cannon, a Positron cannon and some other stuff from various places, retreat to Elysium to heal damage, then I went to Eta Ceti to access Tao Tai, and when I gate out of Eta Ceti, the game stopped respond completely, forcing me to end the thing...

Seriously George, don't make the game count you as died if you crashed...

change things like remove nav beacons
For that thing we should just make a poll "Do you like to dock with nav beacons?" and if 75% of all Transcendence players say no that mods should be merged into vanilla :D . They are a plain nuisance to me. Anyways they are beacons. What they are good for other then decoration and mark some waypoints. They are not stations, they are not ships, the are not asteroids and definitely no nice place to be :D

Anyways... I didnt think about mods like these that really do not affect gameplay. We would probably need to identify those which really dont, like the "non-dockable navbeacons", SiaFu's station graphics ... others ... and simply ignore them.

If there are new mods the players using them would risk to get into another high score list till the community decides whether these mods are evil, good or just decorative. Lists of highscores could also be merged if mods are found not to affect gameplay.

I must admit: I rarely get a chance to play with any mods since I often fall asleep for a few versions and need to try them out in vanilla games first :D

onyhow if theres already a ticket on trac matching your issue, attach you savegame to it and provide a most detailed description of how the crash happend. Including entries in "Debug.log".

Id also want my two highscore entries for ticket 811 and tickt 806 back :D

I believe George is doing a relational database so handling this information should be easy enough with the json being sent - it can be added and moved very dynamically.

is there any sort of bonus to your score if you leave through the heretic gate, ie not dying or running out of fuel or radiation or blown up or arrested or being liquefied ringer experiments or by angry teraton fabricators or by any other way that i might have missed?
i noticed starstrike has a nice high score of 2.5 million some change, but he self destructed in eridani..
come to think of it, none of these scores seem to have their players finishing the game..
is there a permadeath highscore chart? could it be easy to implement?
im currently sitting on around 200k and i havent reached point juno just yet so theres still a bit of shooting and looting to do, i havent died yet or even used my first life insurance either and i am gunning for the top spot.

also, i think it would be cool if you could have a mention of the prev version's top scorer in the vanilla game in the starting of the next version, as in the top scorer of 1.07 should have his high score and ending stats mentioned somewhere on the starting page of trans 1.08. i think it would serve as an incentive to get more people to upload their high scores.

I start games offline so often that I probably will never get a score on the scoreboard let alone compete for a top 20 place.

Otherwise I vote for mods being classfied and officiated with possibly adjusted scores for different mods if that is not too much work (the mod authors could change it and it would be approved by George).
