What mods do you want on the Multiverse?

There are lots of great mods on Xelerus and I'd love to take the most popular ones and move them to the Multiverse. Which ones do you think you'd want to see? Which ones would be best for newbie players? Which ones would be great for advanced players?

Please post your suggestions in this thread.

Obligatory disclaimer: I can't guarantee that I'll be able to do this since I would have to get permission and work with the original authors, some of whom might not be around any more.

For the Multiverse, I would like to see mods that fit smoothly with the (Vanilla) Transcendence Universe and Stars of the Pilgrim.

from my own mods, I would like to see the Black Market Expansion included.

Also, why not include a line in the license for Transcendence that forces all mods made for Transcendence to become CC-BY (or any other copy-left clause for that matter)?

Definitely I would like to see there some weapon, shield and armor mods. They are interesting and valuable for new players. And so it's important if we want the game to be -newbie- friendly ;)

I'd like to see Chainsaw from robotarozum. It may be a very fresh mod, but it's add replay value by changing T to a fast action game.

Captain's Log, for sure.

Actually, I'd like to see Captain's Log become part of Vanilla Transcendence. It's almost entirely balanced and fair, not changing gameplay or difficulty in any significant ways.

I think George has said that he has no problem with adding anything that could be done with pen & paper (with regards to balance). (If I'm mistaken, I apologize)

For the most part, Captain's Log simply makes things more convenient, replacing the pen & paper with a nice interface and menus. I recall that there were maybe one or two things about the mod that slightly tilted the balance in favor of the player. I don't remember which, but they were fairly minor, and could easily be fixed up in a way that would maintain balance 100%.

I'm actually quite a fan of the vanilla game. I'd say 75-80% of the time I'm playing vanilla, and the rest of the time it's only with one mod, or else one mod plus Captain's Log.

Captain's log should be there.

i'm not sure if alterecco's GODMOD should be on multiverse. I mean, why a mod should go on multiverse ?
- to be used easily by new players
- getting scores with the mod.

godmod is definitely a very important tool for all modders and developers, but not a mod for scoreboards.

Same for all the godmode mods, IMHO. (unless George adds official godmods for fun, and disables scores when using them, or something like that)

On multiverse I would like to see 2 types of mods
- the few adventure mods that we have: The Network, black market expansion,
- mods that greatly add graphics and or expands on the universe: Mining Pack and Siafu's mods.

If there would be multiplayer then i wouldn't agree with the sentence just because it could be !!FUNNY!! thing to make epic mass-PvP battles by giving certain weapons with a godmod.

this was specifically talked about - there would be a way for utility mods like this to be hosted but not show up for scored games regardless

Well I haven't been keeping up to date with the latest mods and versions, but I would like to see a number of mod categories for multiverse.

I want to see non immersion breaking mods there and fully fleshed out mods.

This means I won't like to see crossovers or things from other space franchises (sorry even if your mod is awesome and i enjoy playing it, if it breaks immersion I don't want to see it on multiverse) I don't want to see godmods, though grindy mods where you have to do a lot of work in order to gain godlike items are fine.
All the mods should at least be compatible with either the latest site download, or at least one of the last two betas.

* All of PM912s mods which he says are complete or fleshed out
* Iocrym crystal graphics mod
* Custom Weapons icons and sounds mods
* ICX_PD mod
* Unique items mods which aren't godmods but provide unique functionality to the game
* Any decently fleshed out mod which enhances (so adds more things) to one or several factions
* Any decently fleshed out content mod so long as it follows the general style.
* Dynamic Systems (or whenever RPC has a version which isn't too crashy and too OP)
