while I can see it being useful opening up another channel (twitter) for PR, I think it is a bad idea to start forcing your users/community on which channel they should choose for staying connected.
I do not have twitter, nor will I sign up for it.
If twitter is used for 'exclusives', I feel I'm punished for making my own choices, which is not the best of PR strategies to choose; extra communication channels should increase choices, not limit them.

Agreed. I have no use for Twitter at this time.

In retrospect I should have just asked for more Twitter followers and added an URL to the new content directly (instead of expecting that people would search for it on Twitter).
