This isn't a bug report (might make one if others have had similar occurrences), but an attempt to see if other people have been having a rare glitch/bug/feature in the game crop up.
Today I spawned a Hurin to try out my EMP bolts...they seemed a bit overpowered, so before going to go and nerf them, I lured the thing over to Starton Eridani and let the guards rip it up. Eventually, they went away, with the Hurin on 98% damage after the last shot from a centurion's missile pod (SM&M++ centurions have buffed ROF and a missile pod. Makes them quite scary).
Then a few seconds later, without any further hits, it exploded.
I've seen this happen before twice....once with a corsair, the second time with a centauri heavy raider. It seems that from about 1.5 onwards that sometimes, ships will just explode, five or ten seconds after they were last hit by something (usually, something that would have killed them). It's a rare thing to see, and very easy to miss if you're still shooting at it.
I don't know why this happens (and I actually consider it a feature....a glitch that makes it look like a fire reached a magazine or propellant store, or the crew just couldn't hold it together any more? Free immersion!), but I'm curious to try to find out (and maybe see if it's possible to expand on it). So...has anyone else seen this happen?

No i have not observed this, but perhaps it only happens with SM&M++ installed, I'm going to install it for my mothership run to test it myself.

Didnt you also observe this several times on v1.4 or so with an otherwise vanilla game + your playable 20-facing centauri raider?
