very cool some things I like at first glance are
Weapon enhancements implemented.
Calls for reinforcements decrease if reinforcements fails to arrive.
Sapphire starts out with more money.
Stations don't offer as much money for weapons/armor/devices.
Some corporate stations have enhanced items for sale.
deviceSlots attribute to control number of slots that a device uses.
failureChance attribute on weapons.
OnAttackedByPlayer event on ship classes. (activate self destruct )
<Trade> element for station types defines what stations will buy and sell.
(objFireEvent obj event) to fire a custom event.
(dbgOutput) to output text to command line window.
<EncounterTable> definitions supported in extensions.
OnCreate event called for star systems. (is the player ship created before or after the first system is created?)

edit: it is a bit sad that the Sapphire has less maxDevices than the Wolfen considering the earlier start with the Wolfen and the better speed.
thinking about it more the Wolfen has been buffed up alot. Basically it got two extra slots with the patch spider going to 0 and the extra weapon slot. At least the Sapphire has the same credit potential as the Wolfen now the 15 MW reactor isn't anything due to you need to upgrade to 25 and that still costs the same between them.

Edit: Noticed a "bug" already. Shouldn't devices that the ship starts with not be unknown? I added a jumpdrive and on the new ship-select screen it has the "arcane alien device" instead of "TranspaceJumpdrive".
Since, in-game, unknown things become known as soon as you install them, shouldn't they be known if you start off with them?

That screen shot looks pretty nasty .
I haven't gotten that far yet.
I just got killed right out of Rigel. Got cocky and ended flying into a Heliotrope Colony with a class II shield .
I caught a nasty case of Transcendencitis this morning and had to take the day off work, so I'll get on towards the end of the game here before too long.

as much as I'd love to show off what I've found, I haven't found anything, since I haven't played yet (I tried once, but my mod isn't functional with 0.98, apparently due to an image unid change. More on that later- I belive it's just an easily fixed error)

I think I found another bug. Mu Casser does not have an exit stargate.
It popped up as the system directly after St. K's
EDIT: I don't want to have to redownload 10 megs for bugfixes, so would a "patch" be possible? I.E replace the files that need to be replaced, no others.)

Me fighting the Ares Dread:
This thing has gotta be stronger than the Iocrym!
Here's a tip: If you're a Fleet Commander on the CSC fleet and are given a mission that goes something along the lines of "We have detected an unkown hostile. Would you like to destroy it?", DO NOT take it! (Unless you want to go up against this thing, which I bet most people will want to at least once)
It has that great huge cannon thing, and a very souped up version of the Ares Lightning Cannon.
Not only that, but the beetle-like thing with the frontal dome is very powerful a well, with that souped-up Ares Lightning Cannon.
I did eventually defeat it, with the assistance of a CSC.
This thing has gotta be stronger than the Iocrym!

I ran into a Ares Dreadnought guarding one of the new Ares Shipyards.
I wasn't on a mission.
I had to run away. I couldn't bring the shield down and it's Plasma Cannon was tearing my shield to pieces.
Maybe I'll be able to come back later when I have better equipment. I had only a dual TeV9 and Invincible Shield. Maybe with an Iocrym Veil and a heavy ion blaster (w/ boosts on it, I have 4 of them stored up waiting to find a Heavy Ion Blaster and a fire rate enhancer saved for it too.)
