Someone I know is trying to sign up for an account on the forum so he can get a UNID prefix registered.

Unfortunately, he chose a rather spammy username, 'hey999'.

He's unable to log on, and it may be because his username made people think he is a bot. Does he need to re-register?

Nope. I just got a little behind with activations, sorry. Generally it's quicker with less suspicious usernames, but this time it was just me not checking my emails. :P

I've activated the account now, so all should be well.

(Generally speaking my rule of thumb is that I'll be a little suspicious if the username and email address look off to me, but I won't flat-out not activate something unless it's someone spamming multiple user accounts. This does sometimes let bots through, but reporting bots will get them banned [by myself or another moderator/admin])
Mischievous local moderator. Usually a girl, occasionally undefinable, sometimes entertaining.
