playing 1.8.2 I a get few mules together...... call them to follow me to another system..
( sometimes it takes two systems to set this off )
mysteriously one will never catch up - totally vanished : I have tried this w/ only 2 ( easier to observe on the map)
by the time I reach the planet to park them - only one shows up - no wreck in the flight path, no known enemy encounter that can take out a Mule with such speed ( Ventari are Notorious for killing Mules & the Chasm can put a good hurt on them now, but the path was clear & neither faction was around )
So, My question is - is it me or has anyone else been loosing Mules ?
I don't want to call it an issue for Support if it's just my bad escorting skills.
I did not look at the .xml but the Mule had almost always left a wreck...unless it was loaded w/ explosive material.
convinced my Mules are vanishing 1.8.2

If you've left them in a previous system, they should show up in the station list on the galaxy map. But if they're following you around in late game systems and you're far ahead of them, I'd guess they're falling victim to random encounters with sandstorms, kobol gunships, etc. The wreck chance was reduced from 95% to something much lower around 1.6 with the switch to automatic calculation based on mass. Maybe it should be restored in this case.

I remember losing a mule in a similar way. Since then I stick close to them if they have valuable cargo. When they have no cargo or only low value I don't care.
It is very usual for random encounters to turn up and target one of my mules. Especially if the stargate is on the edge of a system and I take them to the sun for example. Never lost a mule as I escort them, only when they travel alone.

I have escorted up to 10 mules collecting ore for Rins....to suddenly start loosing random Mules , I just found it odd.
